TASK1 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 in PPTTASK 22.1Training and development has become one of the important means through which theorganization can develop their employees. Training is not only beneficial for the individual but itis advantageous for the organization. John Lewis Partnership has become successful because ofthe skilled and efficient workforce. But the training is useful only when it is provided accordingto the needs of the employees (Werner and DeSimone, 2011). The training requirements atdifferent organizational level are different which are as follows:Lower level management- In case of John Lewis Partnership, the lower level staffs are thesales man who sell items to the customers. They are one of the important resources of theorganization because they are directly connected with the consumers. They requiretraining regarding communicating with the consumers. Middle level staff- On the other hand, the training of this level is far different from thelower level staff because of the nature of work. Their work is to see that all the goods andthe food staff which are required by the customers are in the place or not. Besides this, their responsibility is to overcome the grievances of the users. On the contrary, they areresponsible for planning and organizing the activity etc (Bratton.and Gold, 2012). As perthis, the organization is required to provide training to the human resources regardingplanning and organizing activity and even managing the lower level staff.Upper level staff- In case of the John Lewis Partnership they are the major decisionmakers of the organization. They do not directly communicate with the staff or they arenot responsible for organizing and planning. But their work is to make decisionsregarding the strategies and plan for the expansion of the services. Besides this, foroperating the new software they require training regarding using it. As this level of staffdoes not require extensive training because they have crossed all the levels and they haveattended all the trainings (Chang, 2010). These are the major differences in the training needs of different level of staff. John LewisPartnership has to identify the requirement and provide training to them. 2.2There are basically two types of training methods one is the on the job training and otheris the off job training. In John Lewis Partnership on the job training is given at the time ofworking hours on the other hand, off the job training is giving after the completion of theworking hours. As there are many training methods so it is advisable for the organization toidentify the pros and cons through which it will be easy for the individual to choose the besttraining method for the employees.
