SocialEntrepreneurship3Part 1Overview of Daffodil DayDaffodil Day since its inception from 1990 has worked as the biggest organization raisingfunds and also in generating awareness regarding the spread of Cancer in New Zealand. Itencourages individuals and groups to render donations to the New Zealand based CancerSociety for conducting research and also rendering treatment to different types of Cancer.Further, donations and needed support is also welcomed by Daffodil Day for cultivatingpotential awareness and also regarding the development of programs and campaigns forgenerating needed information about Cancer to people pertaining to different regions in NewZealand[ CITATION Daf17 \l 1033 ]. Activities Performed at Daffodil DayI served as a volunteer in Daffodil Day and my work was to collect donations from peoplefrom Mt. Eden Road based in Auckland. The volunteering activity was carried out for aperiod of five hours that encompassed different types of sub-activities underlined as follows.Firstly, I was required to put up finely textured yellow colored clothes and hats resemblingdaffodils. Secondly, I met with my team members and also with the volunteering leader ofmy group. The leader briefed us with our objective for fund raising and how the money isused for charity works in Daffodil Day. The shift started where we walked along the Mt.Eden Road selling daffodils in neatly tied packs and other merchandises in exchange formoney or donations. We were told to render a smiling face to the people that would visit usfor procuring merchandises in exchange for donations. Photographs were also taken duringsuch volunteering meets and circulated along the social media[ CITATION Daf171 \l 1033 ]. Personal Means found Valuable during Volunteering The volunteering activity conducted for Daffodil Day helped me in earning different valuablemeans which otherwise would not have been available. The volunteering activity helped mein promoting a difference in the lives of individuals suffering from Cancer. It also helped mein rendering effective services to the society through generation of needed awareness andfinancial support for fighting cancer. Further, effective understanding was earned regarding
