the organisational structure of an company. From this report introduction to Electronic
commerce and its benefits for the organisation is done. The brief explanation of how technology
effected the organisation and how it will impact in future. The management theories are
discussed in context of Electronic commerce and organisation with elaborating all the Electronic

INTRODUCTION
E-commerce refers to the digital and online activity which is involve the business process
of buying and selling of products and services. E-commerce is overall a process which have to
process all the transaction related to business online. In this report benefits of e-commerce like
convenience, borderless transactions, earning while no work is done, scalability, innovative
technology and affordable and effective marketing etc. is discussed (Nwaiwu, 2018). Further in
this report why e-commerce is important for amazon, how development of e-commerce is done
in years with technological platforms that e-commerce used is briefly explained. At last of this
report the relationship of e-commerce with management theories is discussed.

The electronic commerce is a business model that give allowance to companies and
individuals to buy and sell product and services online through the use of computers, tablets,
smartphones, and other smart devices. E-commerce in very important for a business to grow as it
helps to reduce costs as purchasing and renting of offline stores is not needed in online business.
E commerce helped Amazon in scalability as physical stores are limited to an geographical area
where as with online website customer can buy services from anywhere (Senyo, Liu, and
Effah,2019). By E commerce the range of sale can be increased, it will bring more customers and
increase the sales. It helped in marketing in Amazon as it have huge reach than offline business.

E commerce developed through ages and came into action in recent years continuously. E
commerce has seen changes as in early years the e commerce data interchange was done through
record keeping only an mails. Amazon is one of the biggest retailer in the world but started as a
online book store, the first mobile site of the company was launched in 2001. the world accepted
the new innovation and used it for buying services from the brand. Amazon saw huge boost in
sales (Sousa, and Rocha, 2019). Further due to help of e-commerce and online shopping

acceptance of the customers increased to widen the range of products they offered, amazon was
not only limited to books and started supplying, clothing, housewares and currently selling
everything that a consumer needs including services. Digital marketing and social shopping
made amazon enormous and made largely popular among consumers. Currently the company is
acquiring new methods for future to facilitate E commerce by introducing Artificial intelligence
and machine learning.
Brief description of the technology used in this topic
Electronic commerce use technology such as mobile, electronic funds transfer, supply
chain, digital marketing, online transaction, data interchanging etc. In e-commerce sites and
business they require to function 24/7 as an potential customer can search any time and benefit of
e-commerce is that it can be accessed anytime as per consumer demand. For this chat bots and
artificial intelligence are helpful (Verhoef,and Bijmolt, 2019). The cloud data base is needed for
an e commerce site as some business is whole based on online and for Amazon it conducts major
of its business online through websites. Which need put their data and information uploaded in
cloud. Social media is force that drives the mobile sales and help to attract more retail customers
for Amazon. With social media increasing the reach of digital marketing is easy. Amazon place
ads between post which gain attraction of customers and let them know of offers and discounts.
This is an efficient source of marketing.

commerce is using technological platform by using apps and software's. The business function
through apps and providing their business process through mobile application and websites.

A successful business heavily rely in technology and communication for productivity and
tracking. Through e commerce business can easily function properly as it require minimal use of
resources and sustain the business operations. Amazon use technology in applying E commerce
models like computers is used in multiple business, software can be used to operating operations
and maintaining information, networking as it can be used to connect through groups and people
and share details (Rangaswamy, and et.al 2020). Through the regular use of technology Amazon
has grown continuously, it provide various technological feature like automated warehouses that
allows shipping under 2 days where as normal deliveries take more than week. Amazon also uses
digital payments which reduces time and issue regarding cash on delivery system. Amazon uses
app to provide the online shopping experience such as buying clothing, house wares, electronics,
accessories etc.

growth and efficient working. E commerce allows business and consumer in faster buying
process so that consumer spends less time shopping. My minimizing the time they can search for

Garrido,and Sánchez‐López, 2018). Cost reduction is an vital feature of E commerce as physical
stores requires huge investment and time to function. They need repairs where as amazon
majorly uses websites and digital platforms for business. This allows amazon in making more
revenue than spending in liabilities.

Decision making theory suggest that making choices among business decision can vary
from time to time. It shows how differently an person can behave under the circumstances.
Under E commerce the conditions might appear to change the design for the business model like
restructuring website and updating apps which require decision as per the need (Kraus, and et.al
2018). Amazon updates the e-commerce models regularly as per consumer demands like
introducing voice assistant in search results, categorizing products as to get right view of
products and services in websites.
Quantitative theory
The quantitative management theory suggest the use of mathematical techniques and
computers to solve the problems in decision making process for an organisation. By this
approach the organisation uses quantitative techniques such as models, statistics etc. E commerce

features. Amazon uses this features to manage consumer demands as per the records and stats
shown (Urbach, 2019). The process may involve further management that amazon uses in the e

Consumer to business is a model that suggest that an consumer can offer service or a
product which can be used and bought by the organisation for own benefit. In Amazon E
commerce allows the sale of goods and products in online platform of amazon. Amazon buys

an offer in amazon website platform.
Business-to-Business (B2B)
Business to business model suggest that a business can do a transaction with another

organisation is done with directly to government agencies. In this puvlic service organisation
trade and exchange for with companies. This model includes the trade of social security,
employment and legal documents. In amazon the dealing of government agencies is included in
which the details and performance index is exchanged to follow rules and regulation, to confirm
no misuse of data is done in the organisation.
Consumer-to-Administration (C2A)
Consumer to administration is exchange of information between an consumer and
government agencies. This model is used when consumer face some issue regarding rights or
queries and they request information directly from government. It establish relation with
consumer and government. This transaction does not involve amazon in this if consumer face
query regarding service faced they can report to government.

From the above report, it has been concluded that E commerce is used widely by
successful business and it provides huge benefits to the businesses in growing and creating
revenue. An organisation is rely in e commerce for benefits of scalability, convenience,
borderless transactions, cost reduction etc. in this report the importance of electronic commerce
is discussed and how it has been developed for an organisation benefit. Technological apps and
how it is been used as an effective business tool is also described in this report. At last of this
report the conclusion of how management theories relate with e commerce and its impact on
various business models in market segmentation is done.
