INTRODUCTIONThe Kings mills hotel in London is the 4-star hotel that provide modern events space. It offers avariety of lavishing rooms, impeccable dine-in options (Kingsmills Hotel,2017.). To all the guesta good old-fashioned Scottish hospitality is given.The original site that was built by this hotel is based on outdated CMS and it need to beupdated for sales potential and SEO purpose. This report will examine the primary andsecondary sources for digital images that can be used by the hotel in order to fully portray theiroffering and their brand presence. By suing input devices such as cameras, mobile phones,camcorders etc digital images will be created for the hotel.1.1 Primary and secondary sources for digital images for Kings Mills HotelPrimary SourcesA direct or first-hand evidence regarding an event, person, object or work can beprovided by the primary sources. These are the raw materials about history (Montazeri andTaylor,2017). The primary sources are created at the time under study. Under researchinvestigation the documents, artefacts and images provides first hand testimony or directevidence regarding the topic of history.These sources will help the hotel to get close to the historical event that have taken placein the past. The various sources of primary sources can be letters, interviews, poems, documents,artefacts, photographs etc. One such important sources of primary is photographs as they canrepresent the relation or events in life of person (Tobbell, 2016).In this case study, the history regarding the hotel can be represented by making use ofphotographs. In the historical research photographs, video and audio recording contain wealth ofdata that can be used. In order to conduct comparative, illustration, visual images can be utilized.Other types of primary sources can be magazines, newspaper, diaries etc. The primary sourcesmainly depend on the topic and its use. In order to examine and analyse the history regarding theeventsbooks, documents,interviews, photographs, audio and video clips with respect to hotelcan be used (Mardikar,2016).Secondary sourcesThe secondary sources are created by those who did not experience firs-hand event ordoes not involve in the condition or events at the time of investigation. The scholarly books and1
articles are generally secondary sources for a historical research project. The primary sourcessuch as photographs, interviews, audio and video clips are interpreted and analysed by thesecondary source. The pictures, quotes or graphics from the primary sources can be contained inthe secondary sources (Hauck and Dilworth, 2016).In context with the case study the analysis will be conducted of the primary sources. Thesecondary sources can conduct literature review to comment on primary sources or an onlinecatalogue can be searched for books and serials. The argument or opinion regarding past eventscan be expressed by secondary source. In this case study by using primary sources all theinformation regarding the historical events that took place in the hotel can be presented. And bymaking use of secondary sources a comment or literature review can be conducted regardingevents that took place.The main difference between primary source and secondary sources is that primarysource is created at a time when an event take place. On the other hand, secondary source takeplace after that event (Ammert and Sharp, 2017). The primary source is developed by those whosaw the event whereas the secondary source makes use of examples of primary sources. All theevents that took place in the past in the hotel will be created regarding the CMS and othermaterials.
