Information Management (IM) can be stated as a method of collecting, managing and
proper maintenance of all the form of information. Information Management can be stated as the
wide term that focuses incorporation of various policies and procedure for managing and sharing
of information (Laudon and Laudon 2016). It is mainly done for managing and sharing of
information among various person, firm and organization system in the complete life cycle of
information. Information Management is also termed as Information Assets Management.
Information management is mainly achieved by the help of information management system
which supports the various business process and related guidelines (Soomro, Shah and Ahmed
2016). Information Management (IM) mainly focus on the fact of how the required information
can be shared and delivered to recipients.
In the coming pages of the essay, a discussion has been carried out concerning role of
information management in cloud computing. Apart from this, the importance of information
management in data analytics, governance, security and quality has been provided. An idea has
been providing with the role of information management which is needed for building
competitive advantage in digital services.

SaaS model aims to offer much more flexible approach from the viewpoint of licensing.
In the present scenario, there has been fundamental change that is being seen in the market of
information management (Prytherch 2016). This particular industry is known as enterprise
content management has encountered huge amount of transition in the cloud. Cloud computing

comes up with huge number of benefits, but cloud is not the main choice that is available at the
instance of control and compliance. Both control and compliance are given priority in the
organization. Hybrid solution can provide control, compliance and management that is needed
for having recording on-premises (Schwalbe 2015). Hybrid infrastructure can easily provide
compliance and proper management of records. It merely focuses on the user experience of
employees who are looking for everyday work with the help of cloud based application. Hybrid
infrastructure can also remove the need for data migration. This particular aspect will allow the
organization to keeping the legacy of given content of where it is placed (Baek et al. 2015).
There are many upsides down of cloud based services like cloud services aim to offer an
opportunity which is needed by mobile network. It is mainly because it has no kind of effect on
overall productivity. The overall collaboration helps in improvingoverall productivity. The team

With time, technology can make information much easier to collect and create. It is
mainly because overall volume grows. There is a need for effective management and analysis
which is considered to be an important aspect. At present, organization are completely depended
and thrive on timely and accurate information (Costa, Soares and de Sousa 2016). The
technology helps in creation and proper capturing of the increasing amount of data and effective
management. Apart from this, productive challenges of information are becoming very much
challenging in nature. The current information and analytics technology team aims to provide
much cost-effective and risk management solution. This particular aspect will help in providing
much leverage and unlock the overall value of information management (Dumais et al. 2016).
Organization can easily have an access to the right demand of given information, overall trust in
accuracy and changing it into a strategic insight. It merely helps in having achieving much
superior outcomes and gain competitive advantage.
