UNDERSTANDING OF DIGITAL REVOLUTION
Task 1
The excel sheet that has been constructed looks to address the staff salary of Anne,
Bethany and Courtney and the casual employees with respect to the daily working hours, overall
working hours and hourly wages and thereby computing the overall expenses. It is seen that
Anne works for 3.3 hours and the overall working hours is 514.8 and the values are same for
Bethany. However, Courtney works for 5 hours and works 1300 hours with a hourly wage of $22
and therefore the total expenses incurred is $28600. On the basis of the casual employees the
daily hours worked is 5 hours with overall working hours of 100 with the daily wage coming to
$33 and therefore the total expenses computes to $3300. On the total expenses that have been
computed the rent and insurance along with the utilities cost are added and thereby the annual
operating cost comes to $36,480.
Task 2
It is seen that each of the employees have their own way of handling the customers and
accordingly have their own way of paying for the books that are received. It is seen that with
respect to the employee wise aggregate pricing Courtney has priced most number of books to be
good followed by Bethany and Anne. In the same manner the books that have been priced to be
poor has been rated highly Courtney followed by Bethany and Anne. The results have been in
this manner because of the fact that Courtney has been working more hours and therefore has
been attending more books that Anne and Bethany. Anne on the other hand has priced most of
the books to terrible in comparison to Courtney and Bethany.
In accordance to the month wise average pricing, it is seen that in the month of August,
most of the books that have been priced are good followed by the month of September and July.

The results have indicated that average pricing has been the most effective in the month of
August with respect to the pricing of good, poor and terrible and is followed by the month of
September and July.
Task 3
This process is related to creating an understanding of how the process has been
automated. In this manner, it can be explained that all the transactions that have taken place
within the given time period is recorded in order to keep track of all the transactions that have
taken place. In this manner all the transactions are sorted in accordance to the date and time in
which all the interactions have taken place and accordingly all the employee who has been
attending the book and the remark given by the employee on the books are maintained in an
effective manner. The sorting of the books are done with the help of the excel software in which
all the variables are laid down and in that manner sorting is done so that transactions that are
taking place from the first day to the last day can be maintained in an effective manner.
Task 4.1
This part of the paper has been constructed in order to have an idea whether the set of
prices that have been constructed are able to meet the objectives or not. By observing the results
that have been attained, it is seen that prices that have been offered are able to attain the desired
objectives because of the fact that the prices are set in such a manner that the customers are paid
their worth according to the condition, type and the demand of the book in the market. In this
manner the customers as well the shop is able to maintain their profit.

Task 4.2
Scenario 1
In this respect it is observed that the total offer prices are not in accordance to the
historical data because of the fact that the prices that have been offered are on the basis of the
average prices that has been doubled in order to gain the effective price that would be helpful for
the shop for making the profits that are desired.
Scenario 2
By assuming that all the books that have been purchased are sold, it is seen that in order
for Anne and Bethany to receive similar salary as Courtney, revised prices are constructed and
the revised prices are constructed on the basis of the percentage rise in the operating cost over
the general price that has been computed in the earlier scenario. The prices that have been
framed will provide effective level of returns for all the three employees.
