INTRODUCTIONPower abuse at workplace is a kind of negative practice which influence the behaviourand productivity of individual within the organization. Abuse of power is commissioned asunlawful act that affects the performance of employees (D’Cruz and Noronha, 2018).Organization is a comprehensive unit which consists of different departments which can beaccomplished with the personalised efforts of employees at workplace. Moreover, this research mainly consists of five close ended questions in the form ofquantitative research. The report will be helpful in conducting a research survey from 50employees and then the result will be helpful in analysing the impact of negative practice atworkplace in the form of bar graphs and charts. This research will perform the primary researchwhich is mainly carried out through the use of questionnaire. In this research, a survey will beorganises among 50 employees in order to answer the questions regarding the power abuse atworkplace.LITERATURE REVIEWPower of abuse is a negative feeling that influence the performance and productivityamong the employee.Power abuse at work place is referred as a humiliation and exploitation oflow level employees from their superiors who uses the power for their own personal benefits.According toD’Cruz, Noronha and Lutgen-Sandvik, 2018, there are various kinds of abusiveacts which takes place within the organization. It causes the emotional or physical harm to theworkers such power abuse are violence, bullying, discrimination, harassment etc. Violence canbe defined as act of threat or physical harm against another person at worksite. Workplacebullying can cause anxiety, depression, fear and post traumatic disorder symptoms.Discrimination among workers leads to unfair treatment of employees at workplace. Harassmentcan be considered as actions or comments which workers finds offensive. All these things effectsthe performance and hence this might cause a serious disorder to individual. However, according toWee, And et.al., 2017, A legal protection act is defined for theprotection of the employees from the abusive activities at workplace. The EEOC recommendsthe Zero-tolerance policies for violence, bullying, discrimination and harassment so thecommission enforces the law covering workplace abuse. This can be considered as a deliberateaction performed by the employees who are superior and uses their power in wrong way whichresults in humiliation and exploitation of the staff members at lower level. This may effects on1
the motivation and morale of the employees which ultimately affects the performance of thecompany and hence this result in low productivity of individual.RESEARCH METHODOLOGYThe most common methods used ion carrying out the research are qualitative andquantitative methods.Qualitative methodis referred as a method of observation based on thenon-numerical data collection seeks to collect the answers of the questions. This data is collectedto via primary or secondary data collection method and it provides the in-depth informationabout human behaviour at workplace (Paull and Omari, 2015).Quantitative research methodisnumerical data collection technique is used for analysing the data via statistical, metamathematical or computational technique. The research is mainly based on theprimarydata collectionmethod. Most of t he employees involved in this survey was below the age of 30years who have fewer experiences in their jobs. The survey discovered the negative practices ofthe higher management authority employees. People who generally poses the power and positionare more involved in such abusive practices so the survey was mainly aimed at collected of datafrom the lower level of employees who do not posses any power or authority. This survey havetargeted mostly to the female employees of the multinational company who often exploited bytheir senior staff members. In order to conduct a survey for analysing the power abuse at workplace, both themethods will be used to analyse the data (Hodgins and Mannix McNamara, 2017). For betterunderstanding the opinions and perceptions of the people regarding the negative use of power atworkplace, graphs and pie charts will be used for the clear observation of the data which iscollected from the population. The survey is focussed towards the large data collection viasampling technique.Sampling methodis generally used for the marketing research in order toselect a group of people who can answer all the questions of a survey. The sample need to berepresentative of the population as it is not possible to collect the data from the large number ofpeople which mainly consumes the huge money as well as time. So, a survey will be carried outfrom 2 multinational companies among which 30 and 20 employees are randomly selected as asample to the survey. The data regarding the abuse at work place is collected from each selectedindividual.Data collection methodis a process by which the researchers collects theinformation from all the relevant sources in order to find the answers to research questions.
