LITERATURE REVIEW
To understand the concept of innovative digital workspace
According to Meske, and Junglas, (2021), a digital workspace can be defined as a
collaborative technological framework that is used by different organizations within the market
in order to deliver the work allocated to different employees within the company. The employees
of the organization include different types of technologies, applications, and software within the
organization that makes it easy for the company to manage the work associated with their
enterprise and also allow the workforce to carry out the same easily. Here, the work allocated to
the employees is easy to carry out because, the employees are provided with an opportunity
manage their work even when some of the employees are working remotely. When an
organization decides to transform itself into a digital workplace, the company needs to
implement the use a number of technologies within the organization in order to collaborate the

efforts of the different individuals working within the organization and allow the company to
increase the efficiency and productivity of the employees.
As investigated by Mishra, and Alok, (2022), it has been determined that a digital
workspace includes a variety of components which includes app and desktop virtualization
which will provide the employees with remote access to the resources of the company. Similarly,
it also includes tools which makes it easier for the employees to share the files with each other
within the organization. There are times when the company makes use of effective collaboration
tools or video conferencing tools that allow the company to conduct online meetings even when
certain employees of the company are not available within the enterprise. In these times, the
management of the company makes use of tools such as Zoom, Webex and many more.
To investigate the importance of digital workspace with respect to an organization
As stated by Müller, Drouin, and Sankaran, (2019), the benefits of transforming an
enterprise into a digital workspace includes Enhanced security and data breach, enhanced
employee experience, and the flexibility to choose the technology that is required by the
enterprise. It has been identified that a digital workspace helps an organization in proving the IT
department with an opportunity to keep an eye on the network traffic, endpoints, files and users
within the company and thus, help the organization in securing each and every aspect that is
important for their company. The use of artificial intelligence and machine learning secures the
data of the company and prevents the same from getting attacked. Similarly, the use of
technology or transforming an organization into a digital workplace, makes the workforce of the
company comfortable with use of technology within the organization. This helps them in
determining if there is a requirement of any other kind of technology within the company that
could be easily solved by the employees within the organization by making use of different
applications and software. Also, it has been determined that the use of digital tool helps the
company in increasing the level of satisfaction of employees within the workplace and provides
them with enhanced employee experience within the organization.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology can be described as a set of tools and techniques that can be used by the
research scholar in order to conduct a research more widely that is focused towards generation of
the correct outcomes rather than on the faulty or unsure results. There are a variety of qualitative
Document Page
or quantitative research methodology techniques that the researcher can choose and select from
in the current research. They are as follows:
Research type
The research type can be defined as the nature of research. The research can be divided
into two types which includes qualitative research and the quantitative research. The qualitative
research can be described as a research that involves data that in the form of subjective format.
On the other hand, the quantitative research refers to a research that involves data collection and
analysis of data that in the form of numbers (Pandey, and Pandey, 2021). However, the present
study i.e., to investigate the importance of innovative digital transformation, the research scholar
has conducted a qualitative research. This means that the data that has been collected from
primary and secondary sources with respect to the subject of the study are not in the form of
numeric values. This has helped the research scholar in effectively understanding the concept of
the subject of the study, analyse the data and form relevant observations and conclusions with
respect to the same.
Research approach
The research approach can be described as the plans and procedures that will be used by
the research scholar in order to conduct the study. The research approach is mainly of two types,
namely, the inductive research approach and the deductive research approach. The inductive
research approach and the deductive research approach. The inductive research approach is used
by the researcher when they are conducting a qualitative research and the deductive research
approach is used by the research scholar when there is a quantitative research. In the present
study, the research scholar has made use of inductive research approach as it was a qualitative
research. The use of inductive research approach has helped the research scholar in considering
the brand new theory in order to test the hypothesis.
Research philosophy
A research philosophy refers to a belief that states the ways in which one can make use of
data in order to conduct the study. It has been identified that there are mainly two types of
research philosophies which includes interpretivism research philosophy and positivism research
philosophy (Rinjit, 2020). The interpretivism research philosophy is used by the research
scholars in case of a qualitative research and the positivism research philosophy is used by the
research scholar in case of a quantitative research study. It has been determined that since, the
Document Page
present study is a qualitative research, the researcher has made use of interpretivism research
philosophy. This research philosophy has helped the researcher in effectively forming new
theories and then using them for the purpose of data analysis.
Data collection
The data can be collected into two ways, namely, primary sources and the secondary
sources. The primary sources of data include collecting the data directly from an individual with
respect to the subject of the study and the secondary sources of the data includes collecting the
data from websites, books, journals, and other such sources. In the present study, the researcher
has collected the data from both the sources. The researcher has conducted a survey among the
employees of the Tesco Plc. in order to identify their views and perspectives in relation to the
research. Similarly, relevant books, journals and websites have been used in order to gather the
data in the present study.
Data analysis
The data analysis is done mainly in two ways which includes the SPSS and thematic
perception test technique for the purpose of analysing the gathered data. In the present study, the
research has made use of thematic perception test technique in order to analyse the data
collected. This is because, the thematic perception test technique has been found effective in
examining the data gathered.
Sampling
In the current research, the researcher has made use of random sampling method in order
to conduct a primary research among the employees of the Tesco Plc in order to determine their
views and opinions within the same (Tereso and et.al., 2019). The selected sample size for the
present study is 20. This means that the researcher has made a questionnaire and conducted a
survey among 20m employees of the Tesco Plc in order to determine their views and opinions in
context of the study.
Ethical considerations
The researcher has considered all the ethical aspects of the study. The research scholar
has taken due permission from the management of the company in order to conduct a survey
among the employees of the Tesco Plc. The researcher has also had the respondents to fill a
consent form in order to ensure their voluntary participation within the study. The current

CHAPTER FOUR: CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
This report has discussed innovative digital workspace and its importance in the business
organization. Later this report has focused on project management planning process in which
researcher has included steps which need to be considered before, during and after starting of the
project, this may include Gantt chart and WBS. Later chapter one has provided brief description
of chosen topic including aim and objectives, research question and rationale of the research.
Chapter two has discussed literature review which allow researcher to consider viewpoint of
different author, this chapter play significant role in the study allowing researcher to make
research effective.
Later this report has discussed chapter three including research methodologies, researcher
has considered some of the key methodologies which is used to collect data and interpret them
accordingly. Later this report has discussed data analysis and findings in which researcher has
carefully analysed the collected data, researcher has considered qualitative research type to
analyse thematic data, researcher designed questionnaire to gather information directly from
participant. At last this report has discussed conclusion and recommendation in which key
recommendation is been provided to the researcher and company, there are certain
recommendation, these are:
Different reliable method: This is one of the most important recommendation in which
researcher need to select some other method to collect and interpret the data, for the completion
of this study, researcher has considered qualitative research type allowing them to design
questionnaire to gather information, however, researcher could have used quantitative research
type to make this possible (Wipulanusat, Panuwatwanich and Stewart, 2018). They need to

carefully focus on published data to get clear idea about the chosen topic, researcher need to
examine those methods which is more reliable to gather information and data for the completion
of the study.
Training: It is recommended for the company to provide training and development to each
employee which allow them to use these innovative technologies in the workspace, company
need to provide training if the whole workspace is changed into innovative workplace. Training
and development is critical process in which company cover every important and weak area of
employee, with this company reduce chance of failure and reduce employee turnover
(McParland and Connolly, 2020). Training is critical process, firm only can win when they
remove barrier faced by employee in the workspace. Every firm have their own type of training
strategies which allow them to cover important area, however, company need to adopt certain
other strategies to help providing wonderful work experience.
