Digital transformation is one of the most popular and happening aspect. This is because
all the customers are looking for some very developed and organized service. 40 to 50% of
people now buy their clothing online. Grocery stores and supermarkets have not seen this shift
yet – only 10% of people buy their groceries online. In order to make some innovations in this
existing scenario or the existing business models so that the online grocery purchasers are also
able to vest their faith on the online sales and are able to increase their purchases (Vodovoz, Elic
and Marcia Ramos May).
Who is the core customer of that group?
The core customer will be the young office goers who are tech savvy and also they do not
have much time in hand (Leisen et al). They prefer shopping in a very time optimizing manner
and also they have to make sure that the products are being delivered right at their doorstep so
that they do not have to take out the time from their busy schedule
What is the value for this customer?
The value generated is that the customers are able to get their desired products at their
desired location. They are able to see a wide variety of products and make their purchases easily
from there without losing any time.
How would you create a new value proposition?
The new value proposition is that the product will be given a specific code or
identification number so that the customers are able to use it while the product is being delivered.
Often the customers face issue of duplicity. For an example if they order the orange fruit juice

they might often gets the mango flavored juice and this is not what they wanted. In such case the
specific order ID number will help the customers to check the products before they accept at the
time of delivery (Sohl et al).
The next option is the increasing the speed of the online buying application. As the
targeted customers are the tech savvy people, they will naturally not like to wait much if they are
being logged out or are being redirected every now and then. This might make them impatient
and they will either log out or switch over to other sites.
How can you improve their experience?
Customer care has to be improved a lot so that customers are able to get timely assistance
as and when needed. Live chat facilities must be developed so that the customers are able to
receive the apt and the right answers as and when needed by them (Sohl et al) offering some free
shipping service is also much useful. This is useful as the customers will not hesitate in buying
more amounts of the products if they are entitled to the free shipping system.
You need to partner with firms that can make this experience more seamless, convenient,
and more value-adding for the consumer.
The organizations selling the online grocery can partner with the networking and
software security companies so that they can increase their overall speed, look of the site and
also improve the customer security services. They can form partnerships with companies like
Visual marketing software such as Pixlee that allows marketers to display this user generated
content on their brand sites.
