LITERATURE REVIEW
Various dimensions of workplace transformation
According to Kraus and et. al., (2021), Business ecosystem is dynamic in nature. It keeps
on changing with the change in technology and the human acquire within the workplace.
Sometime the ever changing business system force us to do a partnership with the rivalry.
Partnership is done so that they can cope up with the dimension of the ecosystem business. Every
business ecosystem is based on their work. There are eight dimension of the business ecosystem
which help in making the future with the tech used in the organisation. Workplace transformation
is the rethinking of flexible workplaces and using the same employees are accommodated to
work with different aspects related with technology and work (Dery, Sebastian and van der
Meulen, 2017). Workforce is the major dimension of workplace transformation in which major
impact of such management is seen over employees. In this manner by capitalising various
aspects flows and processes can be managed within the organisation. On the other hand, another
dimension is connection and collaboration. In this organisations are needed to embrace
connection and collaboration in their business so that flexibility can be rendered within the
organisation and at the same time right policies can be developed within the business.
Strategies, similar aims, and shared interests drive the degree of openness within
ecosystems. An ecosystem might be public, private, or a combination of the two. Many
businesses are part of a hybrid ecosystem that includes both public and private sectors. An
ecosystem's openness has two ramifications. The degree of change is determined by the potential
for new entrants as well as disruption of relationships and value. It will also clarify the nature of
ecosystem relationships, as well as how they form and are maintained. It will determine how
collaborations and competitions are conducted (Hamburg, 2019). CIOs must recognise that,
depending on the situation, the diversity of an ecosystem and the roles that people, businesses,
and things play will vary and evolve. For example, in an ecosystem, the primary individual may
be a commercial buyer, but then a smart adviser will take over. The way solutions are defined
and promoted will be determined by the constant change in the situation. This will clarify nature
of ecosystem relationships and formed or maintained properly.

Key drivers affecting digital workplace flexibility and transformation within ASDA
According to Nadkarni and Prügl, (2021), There are different key drivers within ASDA
which are affecting the digital workplaces flexibility and transformation. Because successful use
of digital technology allows you to analyse and improve the customer experience, digital
transformation is critical to satisfying customer expectations. When everyone in the company
understands their role in improving the customer experience, they'll be more willing to use
digital technologies to provide the individualised experiences that customers need. It is feasible
to provide greater flexibility in the physical office by transferring practical issues or dialogues to
a digital workplace, where everything is more readily accessible (Briken, Chillas and
Krzywdzinski, 2017). This allows people to work as they do best. There are a variety of ways
that digital technology might help remote workers, but in practise, it provides an open window
into their workflow - no more catching up or going over old work; it's all there already. Many
firms see a flexible workplace as the way of the future, and by implementing digital workplace
use early on, you can be ahead of the curve – and ensure that communication across borders,
between employees, and within teams is as efficient and effective as possible. This approach also
applies to part-time workers, allowing them to participate actively in tools and methodologies
that they might otherwise feel disconnected from.
Digital networks are regarded as the major key drivers in which employees are provided
with internet access so that employee may perform their duties and obligation in effective
manner. On the other hand flexibility is the another key driver of digital workplace
transformation in which intensive work is promoted and at the same time potential of employees
can be encouraged as well. In the current time the role of analytics and creativity are increased
which means that workplace needs are required to be fulfilled so that employee may work with
greater efficiency. Technology has made life of people easier and this way with the help of using
such technology within the organisation differences within the organisation can be minimised
and this will lead into higher business management (Subramanian, 2018). A modern digital
workplace is becoming more particular in nature which means that cooperation is promoted at
workplace and in the same manner improvement in technology can be rendered. In order to
render flexibility within digital workplace transformation communication plays subtle role. With
the help of clear and transparent communication digital strategies can be implemented in most
effective manner and this way changes can be driven in the organisation. So for this reason

internal communication is essential to be managed within the workplace and this may help into
setting up clear goals and objectives. For ASDA as the organisation is having global existence
which means that digital workplace flexibility is the aspect which is regarded as one of the
driving force for the organisation and would help the business to grow and sustain for longer
duration of time.
Describe importance of digital workplace transformation in ASDA
According to Schiuma and et. al., (2021), Many organization are using the digital
workplace strategy within their system. This is done by them to attain the goal in less time.
Digital workplace brings application, data, information and many more collectively so to
increase productivity. Employee identities are an important part of every digital workplace
project because they help businesses succeed. According to Gartner research, BNY Mellon built
a persona model a few years ago as part of a big digital workplace effort that classified users as
sharers, knowledge seekers, and inside experts. Technology adoption and mobile use, content
creation, consumption, and sharing, as well as organisational knowledge, were all incorporated in
the personas. It's crucial to keep track of each persona's technology usage in order to assess the
organization's worth. It's tempting to think of digital workplaces as isolating, comparable to how
people staring at their devices might impede them from successfully connecting with those
around them. This could not be further from the truth: a virtual connection with a large number
of other staff personnel can help employees feel more involved in their workplace, resulting in
more open and fruitful conversations. This flexibility helps you to work more effectively with
your employees, removing office traditions in favour of a more productive and pleasant working
atmosphere.
With the help of digital workplace transformation knowledge within the existing
workforce can be shared in such a manner that the methods within the organisation can be
changed and resultantly higher efficiency can be rendered within the organisation (Solberg,
Traavik and Wong, 2020). The digital workplace transformation affects each level of an
organisation in which data from all the departments can be collaborated and at the same time
accurate results can be obtained. For ASDA digital workplace transformation is considered as
boon so that using these aspects the organisation is able to maximise productivity and morale of
their employees. With the help of better communication and collaboration capabilities of
setting up clear goals and objectives. For ASDA as the organisation is having global existence
which means that digital workplace flexibility is the aspect which is regarded as one of the

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Methodology is a systematic technique which researcher uses to know various
approaches that will be used to complete the report. It is a methods through which data are been
identify, analysis so that useful information can be obtained (Kim, 2021). There are two type of
research methodology quantitative and qualitative method. Quantitative method use data in the
form of quantity which can easily be measured and Qualitative method is that type where data is
acquired in the form of words which can only be expresses measuring of data couldn't take place.
In this report the researcher will use quantitative methodology to conduct the study for the topic
chosen. There are various research methodologies which are used within the research which are
demonstrated as under:
Research philosophy: It is the upper most layer in the onion framework. Research
philosophy is ta set of beliefs that a researcher believes while conducting the research. It has
divided into two parts Ontology and Epistemological. In Ontology authenticity of information is
contain and in Epistemological valid information is their. Epistemological has three part
Positivism, Interpretivism and Pragmatism (Turnbull, Chugh and Luck, 2021) . While
conducting the research on current topic the Positivism philosophy will be used so that exact
information can be gather and the data that is view is outside the study.
Research approach: It is border method which analyses the data in much systematic
way. There are two approach of research i.e., Inductive and deductive approach. Inductive
approach is used when the data is to be gather from limited people and deductive is used when
data is gather in large amount (Sekaran and Bougie, 2016). Also inductive approach is taken on
qualitative methodology and in deductive quantitative methodology is used. As the topic want to
collect data in figure with larger audience so the deductive approach will be select by the
researcher.
Research strategy: It is the conceptual framework. It is more concerned with how the
data is to be collected. What will be the procedure of collecting the data. There are different type
of strategy that the researcher applied based on the topic chosen (Hughes and Barlo, 2021).
Survey, experimental, observation, case study and action research are the types of research
strategy. In the recent subject survey will be used as a strategy to gather information. By using
this strategy vast data can be collected and also the time to gather data will be low.

Research choice: The next layer in the onion framework is the type of choice to collect
data. There are three choice which are been provided to conduct research. Mono Method, Mixed
method and Multi method are the types. Mono method is used when only one methodology is
been chose from the two. Mixed method is selected when both quantitative and qualitative
methodology is used (Vaughn and Jacquez, 2020). Multi method is chosen when both the method
is used but more than two or three type. In this researcher will chose Mono method as a choice
because quantitative methodology is there.
Time horizon: In this the time which is required to collect data is being decided. There
are two time horizon to decide the exact time , Cross-sectional and Longitudinal time horizon.
Cross-sectional is decide when the data is collected at a particular point only and in Longitudinal
data gathering is done multiply time in a particular research (Gregório and et. al., 2021). In the
above topic cross sectional time horizon will be chose because the data is collected only one time
by the employees.
Data collection: Data collection is the technique which the investigator uses to gather
and accumulate the raw facts. This method is used so that correct information for the specific
topic can be gained (WORK, 2020). They are of two type primary data and secondary data.
Primary data the name itself says the information is collected for the first time, data which is
collected will be used freshly by the investigator only. Secondary data is the second hand
information which is already publish on various sources. Sources includes books, journal, online
mode etc. In this the researcher will use primary data collection technique to collect data.
Sampling: It is the tool through which we select the respondent to fill the information. In
the current topic the sampling that the informer use is probability random sampling to fill the
questionnaire (Etikan and Bala, 2017). There are total 40 respondent are taken within the
research those are employees of the ASDA company.

REFLECTION
On effectiveness of current research method
The chosen topic for this research is key drivers of digital platform used by any company.
This research is an effective work which included both primary as well as secondary data
collection method. By doing this research, I got to know about importance and necessity of
digital platform used by organisation. The need of workplace transformation is high in current
time as in order to align with business environment creativity is the aspect which is required to
be developed and with the help of digital workplace transformation such creativity can be given
to the organisation. There are various skills, abilities and knowledgeable which I am able to
enhance during this project. Furthermore, the research approach used by me in my ongoing study
is positivism philosophy combined with a deductive approach because these are the most
effective in leading to better testing of established goals. In addition, I manufactured the
insinuation of a quantitative research approach, which entails the use of a survey questions for
collecting data, which ensures the catalogue of significant data and thus is an efficacious way to
meet the objectives. In addition, in order to address research questions, I gathered both primary
and secondary data via questionnaires and papers. Those same methods aid in the gathering of
relevant data as well as the sketch of sound conclusions. The only disadvantage and ambling
block I encountered while using the current research process is a lack of data. In the research
primary methods of data collection were used in which information was gathered using
questionnaire as tool. I have faced issues related while gaining responses of respondents as they
had lack of interest regarding taking their participation in the current research. So in order to
manage this issue consent form was given to them so that to minimise their rigidity.
Alternative research methodology
In respective research, Questionnaire used in order to collect the information in terms of
taking out significant outcomes related to the research topic. In the context of alternative
research methodology, interview can be used by the researcher so that to validate research results
and to acquire in-depth information related with research topic. Interview method is associated
with more depth so that this is considered as an accurate method. With the help of interview in-
depth information can be received by taking responses from various respondents and in the same
manner research can be executed in reliable manner. Competing search methods something I
could use include qualitative research methods combined with a deductively approach that
provides a more in-depth and abstract investigation. Furthermore, the participation and use of
interviews as an alternative research method could be made because taking extremely rapid and
quick responses from participants is not probable when using the structured questionnaire in a
study. As a result, inviting or having some set of constant interaction based on the use of
time as in order to align with business environment creativity is the aspect which is required to
be developed and with the help of digital workplace transformation such creativity can be given
