This presentation explores the dimensions of the knowledge society and focuses on the knowledge management process in Hewlett-Packard Company. It examines the approach that the company can adopt to attain competitive advantage and discusses the key issues involved. Two models of knowledge management, by Bukowitz and Williams (1999) and Botha et al (2008), are recommended. The importance of these models for Hewlett-Packard is highlighted, along with the challenges faced by the company in knowledge management. The presentation concludes with suggestions for further approaches, such as gamification and transferring implicit knowledge.
