Impact of tourism in economy and development of United Kingdom
It can be said that tourism has a great impact on economy in UK that it helps to drive
development and improvement of nation effectively. United Kingdom is a beautiful place and
there are also so many attractive things available for tourists. Tourists can be local or from
outside the nation for the purpose of visiting different historical and beautiful laces in UK.
This will help towards effective development of UK economy and will help to increase nation
development activities. The UK government should take some initial steps in order to
increase tourism within country such as management of private hotels, development of
historical places, advertisement and many other things effectively. Annals of Tourism
Research are social sciences journal focusing upon the academic perspectives of tourism.
While striving for a balance of theory and application, Annals is ultimately dedicated to
developing theoretical constructs. It can be said that the sector is tourism is vital and wider in
UK that it is generating 106 billion and providing employment for 2 million people
effectively. 80% of UK’s total visitor economy is raised by tourism sector.
Accommodation
By measuring the available accommodations stock in our census it is founded that England
has:
33,374 serviced accommodation businesses (bed and breakfasts, guest houses and
hotels) with 786,775 bedrooms and 1,768,795 bed spaces.
31,845 non-serviced accommodation businesses (holiday homes, camping
and caravan parks) offering 1,401,716 bed spaces.
An average serviced accommodation room occupancy of 71% in 2016, with average
bed space occupancy at 52%
It is difficult to determine the actual position of tourism in UK that there are a lot of
people came to visit with various purposes and reasons effectively. Tourism has both
negative and positive impact on businesses and local communities that one of the biggest
challenges is in the sector of national parks. National park should be wildlife and
conserve enough to attract new visitors which will help to increase tourism in UK
effectively. The positive and negative impact of tourism in UK is described below:
