INTRODUCTION
Chronic respiratory disease become quite common today’s world due to human lifestyle. it is
group of lung disease which blocks airflow and creates difficulty to breathe. There are several reasons
i.e. spinal cord injury, stroke and others that causes chronic disease takes place. The main producer of
these diseases is smoke and alcohol. Smoking is the main factor that causes chronic respiratory
disease takes place. Most of the people knows that it is injurious for lungs and gives negative impact
on health like impairment in body functioning, difficulty in breathing. But people love to do smoking.
The brief study helps to understand about social and psychological factors which are act as stimulant
and provokes people towards smoking either they know it harms body or respiratory.
MAINBODY
Literature Review
As per the view of Bukova-Zideluna, Villerusa&Pudule, (2018) [A82] social factor is also
considered as stimulant which encourage a person towards smoking. Social factors include wealth,
education, buying habits, family size and friend circles. These are the major factors that causes a
person starts to smoke even they know it is injurious for health. According to writer family
background is the main reason of smoking. For example, most of the smokers starts to do smoke in
their teenager age. When seniors or parents to do smoke in that state they want to try smoking because
they think it’s cool. While other people smoke due to stress. Most of the people thinks to smoke a
cigarette is a sign of self-medication which keeps person relax. It is wrong concept which people use
to cope up with their stress level. Smoking enhances anaxiety and tension because nicotine gives
instant relaxation. so, people thinkthat it declines stress and anxiety but it is temporary feeling and
shows it’s symptoms by increasing craving. There is another reason i.e. economical issue that is
another reason which cause people smokes. When they are not satisfied from their job or their salary
then they frustration occurs in them. To overcome frustration starts smoking which gives them
relaxation for some time. Friends zone also is another reason which attracts a person towards this
habbit. There are lots of cases where finds a teen smokes because their friend zone used to do.
Specially teenager has more craze for smoking because they think it is cool and gives them
confidence. Even they know it leads chronic disease due to continuous smoking.
According to other Guelker & et.al., (2018) [439-445] perspectives has quoted in their
published research paper is that chronic respiratory disease occurs when people use to smoke daily
basis. Where nicotine direct accumulates in lungs by and by and impacts on respiratory symptoms.
When people stop to smoke then nicotine withdrawal symptoms i.e. irritability, nervousness,

headache and trouble in sleeping. So, most of the people unable to leave the smoking habits that is a
sign of smoking even they know it gives injurious impact on their respiratory system after they keeps
smoking regularly. However, some authors Cope & et.al., (2017)have highlighted other reason of
smoking in their published articles such as advertisement, peer pressure etc. Let’s talk about
advertisement which is the major reason of smoking because adds creates excitement in the teenager
and youngster to try smoking.when they feel better after smoking for several time then nicotine
increases craving in people to do regain. Even they want to quit this bad habit but unable to quit it
because they feel themselves alone, irritable and social isolated.
As illustrated by Sodik & Setyani,( 2018)to stop smoking suddenly is not effective technique
to quit. The best way to quit smoking is that develop plan which helps and select right time to try. For
example, if a person wants to quit this habit needs to select specific time where they want to smoke
but can’t to do smoking such as to spend time with family who helps to stay away from the habit.
Another option is to join rehab centre which guides them how to maintain distance and how to
overcome on their craving. Apart from this, smoker can think about relationship with smoke like how
they start and what negative impact gets in their lifestyle, family and society that automatically creates
enthusiasm for change and motivates them to get better physical health, take fresh breath, enhance
concertation and others.Smokers can determine its trigger situations i.e. pubs or after meal which
provokes them to take puff. They can avoid them and try to divert their mind in other stuff that also
supports people to stay away from their bad habits.
As per the views of Raoul, Patrick Guilchet, and Thomas(2019) social determinants
of health which will be affected with these decisions are that many addicted people with
smoking habit despite of respiratory problems have been highly addicted which impact on
their social welfare standards, physical well being and psychological issues. Socially people
who are addicted with smoking are highly prone to various negative factors which make them
uncomfortable to merge with various groups and social gatherings, which also impact their
psychology highly. Addiction and respiratory issues have long term impact on health
standards which define their disability and productive well being on various parameters.
Author explains smoking impacts their internal body organs which not only brings various
respiratory problems on lungs, but highly negatively losses their proficiency. Authors
Jackson,Dickinson & Miller,(2020) [15-28]. views the topic in his research that various
young adults are becoming addicted to smoking despite of their respiratory issues because of
various social pressure within their peers, colleagues which ultimately affects their mental
scenario and leads to addiction. Smokers have been found largely unable to leave their habit
of smoking due to psychological and depression which is the foremost impact of smoking

help , within various scenarios with which their productivity can be developed within their

effect of many things. Many time human beings feels irritated due to any problem or
situation. Such irritation drives human beings to smoke. Smoke drives individual to forget
such mental issues and problem for some time. Researches has also specified that in case of
facing problems in thinking clearly over a certain topic individuals starts to smoke to deal
with such situation. Author has indicated that human beings face plenty of emotions that are
directly connected with the life experiences. Smoking provides mental relief for the limited
period from such issues. In order to get such mental relief even in case feeling restless
