The Dispute Resolution Regulations

The Regulations prescribed changes inside the workplace with the introduction of three-step disciplinary and grievance procedures which employers and employees had to comply with, before the dispute was referred to an employment tribunal. Outside the workplace, the Regulations introduced fixed periods on the time available for Acas conciliation, whereas previously Acas’ statutory duty to conciliate subsisted up to the point where all matters of liability and remedy had been determined by an employment tribunal.
