Research Topic: To estimate the spatial and temporal distribution of species richness in national parks: An evaluation ofSequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. INTRODUCTIONDecreasing biodiversity and changing species richness pattern becomes an important issue in the field of natural areamanagement. National Park in US are mandatory liable to create report for National Resource Condition Assessment (NRCA) thatpresent current condition of the park, species richness, factors that influence park condition and others (Nieto, Flombaum and Garbulsky,2015). The current study had used NRCA report to extract data set for examining species richness of Sequoia and Kings CanyonNational Parks (SEKI). The study aims at providing clear insight for estimating spatial as well as temporal change in the richness ofspecies in the parks. There are enormous species of birds, mammals, plants, amphibians and reptiles exists in the park, however, thestudy focused attention only on the targeted species that are Rodent Species. It will be an empirical study that aims at examiningspecies richness and their habitat which environment perfectly suits the requirement of species and provides suitable atmosphere tothem. Besides this, the study will also examine biodiversity drivers that influence the spatial distribution of species richness. Thereport purposes at assessing species richness of wildlife observation recorded by scientists, park rangers, visitors and others. MATERIALS AND METHOD The Park covers 3504 square kilometer located in the southern portion of California’s Sierra Mountain range. Elevations underSEKI range covers 400 m to 4418m and Mount Whitney exists at the highest point. 1
