The Causes and effects of divorce
By taking into consideration the people all over the world have determined to stay together and
also to get married. Marriage is considered as one of the beautiful relation, but there are many
couples who are unable to maintain their relationship and also they choose divorce as the best
option to solve the problems between the husband and the wife. The effects of divorce can be
detrimental to a family but the causes of divorce can be worse (Maccoby et al., 91-112).
One of the main causes that are related to divorce is the change in the roles of the women in the
recent scenario. In earlier times then it is seen that the responsibility of the man is to earn money
and also to provide financial assistance to his family. The woman is dependent on their
husband’s for money and due to this reason it is difficult for many women to take divorce
(Bernardi et al., 1653-1680). This situation in the present scenario is entirely changed. Now
equality between both male and female is nowadays. The women work to earn money and the
male contributes in the household’s task like cooking, washing. It is clearly analyzed that women
are independent from money as they can earn money. So, in this situation the rate of divorce
enhances (Amato et al.,370-386).
The effect of the recent enlargement in the rate of divorce has negative effects. Couples
normally have children when they get married. Divorce gives negative effect on the children.
The children who are living in the single parent families get pregnant as teenagers and also it
leads to emotional problems that lead to social problems. There are many children who go out of
their house when the parents are separated. Due to shortage of education they are unable to find
the opportunities to find a job. So it leads to crime and also these are the negative effects of the
recent expansion in the divorce rates (Anthony et al., 249-261).
It is concluded that a family is one of the most important part of the society, so the family should
have proper relations to be happy. By taking into consideration the recent scenario it is analyzed
that the cause of divorce is change women’s role and also the negative effect is given on the
children.
