ResultsA Standard Curve has been created using DNA Absorption measurements. Theabsorption of each known DNA sample at 260nm wavelength has been plotted along the y-axis and the amount of DNA (in μg/mL) has been plotted along the x-axis in order to obtainthe Standard Curve. A linear trendline was generated after obtaining a scatter plot of the data.The equation of the linear trendline is: y = 0.0136x + 0.0641.The obtained absorbance of the two unknown samples is provided in Table 1. Theconcentrations of DNA in the two unknown samples were calculated from the trendlineequation of the standard curve obtained previously. The concentrations of Unknown Sample1 and Unknown Sample 2 respectively are The absorbance data of Known DNA Sample 4 from 225-325 nm was utilised toproduce an Absorbance Spectrum. The absorbance Spectrum had a single peak and washyperbolic in nature. The A260/A280 ratio of the of the sample was 1.997 which implies that the sample ispure in nature (ratio between 1.6-2.0).
