1.1Importance of operations managementOperations management refers to the set of management activities which involvedplanning, organizing, leading maintain effective control over firm's operations. OM isimportant for each and every business organisation in order to attain success in their businessactivities. It is important for us that we can use operation management function for thischaritable event. There are the following importance of OM for the events:It can help to managing all available resources which we have in the school. Forexample, there are various resources such as human resource, finance and otherresources which can be used effectively.It is a charitable event which requires to overcome its operational cost which can helpto save more money for the charity. With the help of operation management huge large number of participants can bemanaged effectively. It can reduced chaos situation in the event. 1.2Functions of operation managementThis is important for an event planner is that to use operational function which can increasethe success of that event. There are various function of OM as given below:Designing: In this function group required that to design their charity event which can help toattain their desirable goals at the given period of time. Planning: This is another important function where group can make pre plan for their eventand make a list for their proposed programme of the event such as food selling, raffles, quizand so on. Managing: This is another function which is help in management their all planned activitiesaccording to their planning. Team leader make sure that they have to allot various task andmanage accordingly. Coordinating:In this function they can make a team each can be coordinate andcommunicate with each other which can help in achieve their desired target. 1.3Operation processIt is related with the transformation of inputs such as man, machine and material in todesired output like goods and services which can satisfy the needs of the customer.
