INTRODUCTION
It is essential to have necessary skills so that work can be completed on time and it helps in
achieving targets. It is important to develop skills and enhance knowledge by learning new
things and this is beneficial in growth and development (MAURYA and SHARMA, 2017). The
essay examines, Driscoll model of reflective practice and how skills are developed.
Opportunities for an individual person who is having necessary skills and plays a crucial role in
personal growth and development. personal experience is shared in the essay and importance of
developing skills.

Driscoll model of reflection
Driscoll model of reflection provides a framework for students and practitioners who want to
improve their performance and provide a view to understanding personal reactions. This model
has three stages i.e., what, so what and now what. Driscoll model helps in briefly describing the
experience and incident which is faced by an individual person (Stonehouse, 2020). It describes
what exactly happened, what did a person do, other person who are involved, experience was
good or bad. It is essential to apply this model because it helps in identifying what was the
situation and how it was solved. Driscoll model helps in determining performance and help in
making changes in plans so that goals and objectives can be accomplished.
Driscoll model is applied by people to review their performance because it is the easy model,
structure of this model is easy and simple to apply. This model helps in improving personal
efficiency and improving skills so that goals and objectives can be accomplished. This model is
good because of its level of simplicity and it includes only three stages. Most of the people are
using this model to improve their performance and make better plans so that goals and objectives
can be accomplished. According to my experience, Driscoll model is best because it describes
situation properly and suggest better ideas which can be applied to improve performance.
Driscoll model includes three stages i.e., what, so what and now what. With the help of this
model an individual person can identify their strengths and weakness. After analysing positive
and negative points better plans can be made and goals & objectives can be accomplished. It is
essential to apply Driscoll model so that person can improve their performance and targets can
be achieved (Babatunde and El-Gohary, 2019).

This is the first stage of Driscoll model of reflection which describes what happened in the study,
purpose of study session, things which I learn during this session, resources which is used to
make improvements, my reaction during session and description about people involved in
session and their reaction. The purpose of study session is to learn about skills which I have to
develop so that I can get good opportunities. I want to develop my team building skill, research
and analysis skill, ability to work under pressure. During this session I learn many things like
how I can develop skills which is beneficial for my personal growth and development. In this
session, it was taught that how to make plans for improving weak points. Resources which I used
during the session are, taking helps from my teachers, taking lectures from you tube so that I can
learn new things which helps in enhancing my knowledge. During this session I learn many
things and it was good for me as I get chance to enhance my knowledge. People involved in
session are teachers, experts, students. It is essential to develop skills which is essential for
growth and development of an individual person.
So what?
Second stage of Driscoll model describes set of knowledge which is gathered by me, skills I need
to improve, positive aspects, weakness and experience about study session at the time (Mulryan-
Kyne, 2021). In this week, I learn to determine strengths and weakness so that I can improve my
performance and make better plans which is beneficial for my personal growth. It is essential to
identify positive and negative aspects and make plans accordingly. My strength is that I am
having good communication skill, leadership skill, collaboration skill, critical thinking,
motivation skill, problem solving skill. These are my strengths and it helps me in achieving
targets. Some negative aspects or weak points which I have to improve are, team building skill,
research skill, work under pressure, analytical skill, strategic thinking skills. These are some
skills which I want to improve so that I can perform better than others and get god opportunities.
I am learning things from google and making plans to improve my skills and take necessary steps
so that I can work efficiently. It is essential to improve weak points so that goals and objectives
can be accomplished. The session was very good and it helps me a lot in improving my skills and
I learn new things. My experience was good and I learn new things which helps me in enhancing
my knowledge and it is beneficial for my future growth.

Third step of Driscoll model describes challenges which is faced by me to be an effective
student, weakness and how I improve my weak points, information to improve my weakness.
These are some points which is discussed in Driscoll model. There are many challenges which I
have to face to be an effective student like, I make plans to improve my skills and take help of
teachers to identify that whether I am correct or not. It is essential to make improvements so that
better plans can be made and it helps in achieving goals and objectives. My weakness is I am not
able to work under pressure, research skill is not good and not able to work in a team. To
improve my weak points I take help from my teacher and ask to give more work so that I can
complete my work on time and give topics on which I have to gather details. This helps me in
improving my research skills and I can collect relevant information. To be an effective student, I
develop all skills and enhance my knowledge by learning new things and it is beneficial for my
future growth and development. It is important to have necessary skills so that work can be
completed on time and creates positive image in front of others (Sousa and Rocha, 2019).
Importance of skills
Nowadays, competition is increasing and it is essential for students to have necessary skills
which is required at the organisation so that they can good opportunities. Some skills which is
essential are, communication skill, leadership, team building, research, analysis, work under
pressure, collaboration, analytical skill, strategic thinking skill etc. These are some skills which a
student should have to get good opportunities (Cadersaib and et.al., 2020). Skills play a crucial
role in development of an individual person because nowadays, managers are recruiting
candidates who are having skills and ability to work efficiently. It is important to focus on
improving weak points by making plans and taking necessary steps which is beneficial for
growth of a person. Skills help in enhancing knowledge of a person and improves performance.
It helps in increasing productivity, improve standards of living and boost confidence of students.
So, a person should identify strengths and weakness and make plans to improve weak points to
get good opportunities in future. It is important to have skills so that work can be completed on
time and it helps in achieving targets.
What is reflection
Reflection is a form of learning things from past events and making plans for personal growth
and development. It is necessary to identify skills which is required and determine own strengths
and weakness so that improvement can be made accordingly and it helps in getting good

opportunities. In the essay I am sharing my personal experience and taking necessary steps to
improve my skills so that I can get good job opportunities in future and better plans can be made
to accomplish targets. Reflection is a three stage process i.e., looking back at an event and
analysing what are the mistakes which are made, looking forward and thinking about what we
have learn and last step is to make plans for changing. This helps in improving performance and
better plans can be made which is beneficial for achieving goals and objectives. Reflection plays
a crucial role in improving my performance because I determine strengths and weakness. After
that I think about lessons which I learn and make plans to improve my weak points so that I can
get good opportunities in future. This also helps me in improving my performance and for my
personal growth and development.

From the above discussion it can be concluded that, skills play a crucial role in an organisation.
A student should have skills so that they can work efficiently. Driscoll model of reflection which
includes three stages i.e., what, so what and now what has been described. Further, importance of
