IntroductionThe distance learning courses have been there from the year 1800s and this concept wasinitiated by Sir Isaac Pitman. The countries that initially adopted this way of learning wereEngland, Japan and Germany (Glennie and Mays, 2013). In the preliminary phases, thedistance learning had been carried out via correspondence, low communication among thelearner and the instructor happened. The analysis of distance learning program has beendiscussed to assist in examining the components of distance learning which are negative andpositive.Part 1SWOT analysis assists with improving the processes and developing the latest distancelearning programs and prospects. StrengthsWeaknessThe students get accessibility fromalmost all places where the internet isavailable (Cookson, 2000).Flexibility of time is there.The student gets chances ofindependent learningThe students are able to work andattend the school all together.The student can attend the class evenwhen he’s sick or unavailablephysically.It is highly convenient way ofstudying.The student can do this course alongwith job or any other course.The travelling time and cost ofstudent is saved.The distance learning program at DeMontfort University (DMU) has avirtual database, IT provisions andvirtual library, so it is capital-driven.The efforts involved are higher.Limitation of technology can alsohinder the learning.Students of DMU have limited orrestricted access to professors andother students.The computer is a necessity for suchcourse.Sometimes, the student is unable tounderstand technology or accessinternet so this can be a hindrance forsuch courses (Moore, Dickson-Deaneand Galyen, 2011).IMAT5211 E Commerce Systems First Assignment J T Burns Feb 2017
