■ Research related to ecommerce security has been undertaken
to identify the security risks in ecommerce.
■ It is necessary to identify and analyze the risks and issues in
ecommerce mainly because its is associated with transfer to
personal information such as details of credit card.
■ With the rapid development and increase in use of e
commerce, the security risks associated with the ecommerce
is needed to be evaluated

Aims and Objectives of the
Research
■ The aim of the study is to identify the risks associated with e
commerce transaction and to evaluate the different security measures
that can help in ensuring secure e commerce transaction.
■ The objectives identified for the thesis are as follows-
o To identify the risks associated with the ecommerce transactions
o To understand the source of risk related to ecommerce
o To evaluate the risk mitigation options in E-commerce
o To recommend secure usage of E-commerce

■ The Risk mitigation techniques include –

Proposed Method
■ For the research undertaken, the researcher has chosen to
collect primary data
■ The primary data has been collected from a sample size of 50.
The sampling method that is followed in this research is
random sampling method
■ The research respondents have an experience in the field of
ecommerce and ecommerce transaction
■ A questionnaire has been designed as a part of survey and
primary data has been collected from the survey.

Potential Findings
■ The analysis of the data collected from the
primary sources indicates that the major
risk in the field of ecommerce is denial of
service attack, phishing attack and brute
force attack
■ These risks can be mitigated by taking
certain preventive measures
■ Encryption and regular security updates are
two most effective techniques of risk
mitigation
