Explain the advantages and challenges of E governance
There are various advantages of e-governance. First is related to the speed. It has been
seen that technology makes the overall process of communication at a good speed. There are
internets, phones, cell phones that have minimized the overall time which is considered in the
normal process of communication. It has been seen that through technology it can be easy to
enhance the communication and the flow of communication can speed up easily. The time which
is consumed has lowered the entire time which is considered to communicate (Tilahun &
Sharma, 2015).
Next is related to the cost reduction. It has been seen that there are various expenditures
of the government which is correct towards the cost of the stationery. There is paper-based
communication which requires a lot of stationery, printers and also computers which consider the
continuous big expenditure. It has been seen that Internet and Computers are saving the valuable
money for the government. Through internet, it has been seen that process of communication is
cheaper and also it is less costly. It is an effective method that can help to minimize the entire
cost in a proper manner. It can be easy to make the calls and also in fewer prices the entire
activities can be conducted (Boardman, Greenberg, Vining & Weimer, 2017).
Next is related to the transparency. It has been seen that with the use of ICT it can easy to
make the overall operation transparent. All the data of the government can be available on the
internet. The people can easily analyze the information whenever it is necessary or they want to
see. But it has been seen that it is not easy when each piece of the data of the government is
uploaded on the internet and is found for the public to consider. The recent governing process
considers various ways to conceal the data from the entire group of people (Brennan & Kirwan,
2015). ICT assist to create the data which is present in online eliminating due to the possibilities
of the overall concealing of the data.
The last advantage on which focus can be given is related to the accountability. It has
been seen that once the overall governing process is considered to be made transparent the
government can easily make accountable. Accountability can be easily answered by the
government to the individuals. It is answerable of the deeds of the government. The government

Challenges of the E-governance
There are various challenges related to the E-governance like
It has been seen that the IT infrastructure is procured at the time of building the entire
application and also the digitizing the information. The focus is also given on the physical
security in which the logical and application security is also left by the vendors in many
situations. The main issue is related to components of E-governance applications and it has been
seen that in this it is easy to outsource it (Shibu & Naik, 2017).
Privacy is also considered as the major problem at the time of implementing the e-
governance in the developed and also in the countries that are developing. There are many issues
and barriers which are related to the e-government implementation. Privacy is related to the
protection of the various levels of securing the individual privacy. It has been seen that it is
difficult to maintain the security and it is considered as the essential barrier to the e-government
implementation.
Next is related to the security. It has been seen that it is also the essential challenge at the
time of implementing the initiatives related to e-governance. Security is related to safeguarding
the information and system against any type of the disclosure for accessing any unauthorized
modifications.
Resistance to change in the method related to the electronics. It has been seen that e-
governance is considered as a phenomenon in which the transformation is considered in the
methods of work which is related to the electronic ones. To reduce the challenges it is important
for the e government leaders to analyze the sources of the resistance and also to make a plan for
treating them.
It has been seen that hyper-surveillance is also the challenge in which it has been seen hat
contact between the government and the citizens has enhanced and also the e-government has
started to create and has become decent. There are many people who are forced to interact in an
electronically in context to the government on a big scale. This has also lead to reduce in the

privacy of the civilians as the government has considered the entire data. In the ineffective
situation with more data, it has been seen that entire information is given to the government and
civilization. The government can simply evaluate to the entire data if the focus is given on the
citizens and also the private information is lost.
The major challenge is also related to the false sense of transparency. It has been
evaluated that if the focus is given on the transparency of e-governance it has been analyzed that
it is dubious because it is difficult to maintain by the government in a proper manner.
Information can be considered or removed from the public. There are not many companies who
focus on evaluating the companies but it is important to maintain proper transparency
(Ljungholm, 2015).
So, it can be concluded that it is important to reduce the challenges so that it can be easy
to conduct the activities in a proper manner. Also, there are many advantages like cost reduction
and accountability.
