1E-PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT
An E-Portfolio is basically an electronic portfolio that comprises of a set of electronic
records about the personal details, academic qualifications and skills and expertise of the user
(Alexander & Stewart, 2016,p.262). Electronic portfolios are dynamic records maintained
over the internet and are subject to incorporate changes and modifications over time with the
change in the skills set and qualifications of the user (Andre & Heartfield,p.67). The basic
utility of an electronic portfolio is to represent a spectrum of the acquired skills and expertise
of the user along with the learning goals so as to effectively present an overview about the
learning outcomes attained by the user. It should significantly be noted here that the learning
portfolio serves as a unique platform where the students reflect upon their learning
experiences and effectively design a learning goal and enlist the resources required so as to
proceed as an efficient professional in their area of interest. An electronic portfolio can

assessment portfolio. A development portfolio specifically includes details about the skills
mastered by the student over a short period of time and provides an insight about the strength
and abilities of the student (Faulkner et al., 2013,p.872). On the other hand, the assessment
portfolio serves a platform for the assessor to evaluate the progress of the student on the basis
of the skillset acquired over a period of time. However, a showcase portfolio is most
commonly used by job-seekers and comprises of the personal details and skill-set of the
individuals over the academic tenure which could prove to be effective while shortlisting
appropriate candidates for the job profile (Holt et al., 2016).
This e-portfolio is an example of an assessment e-portfolio which would broadly be
based upon my learning goals, skill set, expertise, strengths and weaknesses. The e-portfolio
would typically comprise of a table of content so as to provide an overview about the content
mentioned in the portfolio. Further, the portfolio would broadly comprise of four sections so
as to provide a concise overview about the academic experience and the learning goals. The
