Purpose/aim of developing the e-portfolio
The purpose of developing an ePortfolio is for recording or storing the artifacts of knowledge for
the individuals. A digital collection of work that documents the knowledge as well as the abilities
of a person is known as E-Portfolio (Wu, Hwu, Ou & Lan, 2017). It usually means a reflection
on experience and learning. The main aim of developing an E-Portfolio is to keep all the
evidence of the education or experiences safely from any disaster.
Narrative of the development process
I want to become an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) and have experience as a staff nurse in
an emergency. E-Portfolio is beneficial to my specialty by recording all my learnings in a safe
place. E-Portfolio provides a quick and accurate showcase of learning which helps in continuing
the nursing competence (Anderson, DesLauriers, Horvath, Slota & Farley, 2017). I could record
me all experiences with evidence in the e-portfolio. E-portfolio could be used for the competence
of the emergency nurse practitioner, showcasing the learning outcomes as well as the capability
for meeting the requirements of the nurse practitioners. E-Portfolio helps me in achieving my
future goal to become an ENP in several ways.
Proposed plan
First of all, the e-portfolio platform will be verified by the post of a nurse practitioner and there
will include the collection of all the materials for the execution of the e-portfolio regarding the
tasks associated with the duties of a nurse like files, documents, letters, and equipment. There
will be the development of a timeline to execute the plan. The artifacts should be collected
including the samples, interaction with the patients, recommendation letters and others like the
acceptance letter, CPR C and relevant certificates. The development of the proposed plan is
based on a nursing career.
