Running Head; Case Study Analysis Introduction “To provide sustainable clothing to the adventures of British Columbia”.This is the strategic mission of the Eagle Peak Fabric business, but as presented in the case study the implementation of this study has not been successful in recent years. Sustainability is a major concern in the age of modern clothing industry. Over the last ten years, increasing awareness of social responsibility and the environmental sustainability concerns around the clothing industry has caused a rise in the implementation of sustainable business initiatives. Mark Davies needs to come up with better strategic management approaches to cope with both the internal and external environmental conditions that his organization is facing. Currently, Eagle Peak manager is determined to tackle the issue of reputational damage that happened to one of the company’s main supplier of raw materials. Throughout this report, the focus will remain on Eagle Peak Fabrics internal environment, external environment, current strategy as well as the future recommendations that will enable the organization to remain competitive and achieve its mission. The SWOT tool will be used to do a situational analysis of the organization with an aim of presenting the internal strengths(S) and weaknesses (W). The tool will also help in the analysis of the opportunities (O) and threats (T) that Eagle Peak fabric organization is facing in its current external business environment (Ouma, 2017). Internal Environment Conditions Internal environmental conditions can be defined as those conditions that occur or exist within organizations and they have a direct link to the organization policies, culture, and policies (Argyris, 2017).As one of the leading organization in the clothing industry, Eagle Peak has various strengths which have enabled it to survive well in the marketplace. Based on the case
Running Head; Case Study Analysis study provided in class, some of the strengths of Eagle Peal are; a positive reputation and brand, a workforce that is skilled and conscious about their roles in the organization. Over the years Eagle Peak has invested a lot of time and resources to maintain the company’s brand. This is evident from the organization president, Mark Davies who even spearheaded the revising of the company mission in 2015. The popularity of the organization brand name is also seen by the quick attention that the companies get from the media after one of its supplier's reputations goes viral. A brand can be very important especially when an organization is introducing new product categories in the market. The company’s workforce is also very skilled and conscious. This is portrayed by the brief narration of the situational viewpoints from various company employees such as Daniel Frank, Mark Davies, and Jennifer Smyth. Eagle Peak also has some internal weakness conditions that they need to improve upon to build on itscompetitiveness. The largest weakness thatthe organizationiscurrently facingis reputation damage. Their main supplier, Artemis Fabrics, was under the investigations for unfair labor practices. Basically, the public would be very quick to connect this bad name to Eagle Peak. Also, the organization lacks a robust management system. This is seen by the fact that the production manager could easily play a blame game when things are not going well in his area. This behavior could highly be the reason why Daniel wrote a resignation letter when his boss, Michael Robertson blamed him for lack of progress in the production line. External Environmental Conditions External environmental conditions present the opportunities and threats that an organization is facing from its general environment as well the global environment (Shafritz & Jang, 2015; Argyris, 2017). Opportunities that Eagle Peak can utilize include the online marketing and

This is a field that the organization can make use to beat their competitors. Finally, the Eagle Peak faces external threats which can hinder it from achieving its objective of sustainability. The most eminent external competitor being that their main home competitor is doing extremely well. The success of the close rival to Eagle Peak is explained by Chantal, the Production Manager. Chantel highlight that the company pays better, gives longer holidays and also rewards it best employees with tips and promotions. This isdirectly opposite of the case of what Peak Organization is doing. Conclusion and Recommendations Considering all the above forces, it is clear that the largest problem for Eagle Peak being the victim of their main supplier, Artemis fabrics. The organization president Mark Davies must, therefore, a establish stable and an early advantage by using other suppliers who strictly follow the sustainable production principles. The organization, led by the president, should then start employee appraisal programs within the organization that recognizes the efforts of dedicated staffs. This is important due to the fact that such efforts improve the motivation the employees in an organization (Polassky et al 2011). The organization should also use the internet to its advantage because the country consumers, as well as international clients, are making use of the digital resources. Utilization of the said recommendations will not only enable Eagle Peak to achieve its mission, but it will also give them a competitive edge over their rivals.
