INTRODUCTIONA safe and healthy environment for children needs to be established and maintained inthe State of Queensland. There is a need to implement and promote effective hygiene practicesfor the health and safety of children. National Quality Standard (NQS) set the nationalbenchmark for early childhood education and care. In order to support National law, NationalRegulation provides information on the range of operational requirement for education and careservice. The roles and responsibilities of workers and officers in Work Health and Safetyregulator for children will be presented in this assessment.TASK-11. Two Quality Areas or Elements for health and safety in early childhood education and careserviceThere are various quality areas that are essential for children in order to give educationand care to them. These quality areas are given so as to provide a better knowledge of qualityservice and assist families of these children to make better decisions regarding their educationand care. The two areas that are selected are as follows-:Educational program and practice – The objective of Early Childhood Education andCare is to make sure that program and practices that related with education need toencourage and enhance the learning and development of children. In various school careservices, this program helps to develop skills, knowledge of the children. In order tomaximize opportunities for each child's learning this program organza various activitiessuch as quiz, debate etc. for the children. All the information and documentation relatedto child's program and progress is made available to families. To extend each child'slearning the educators use intentional teaching to respond to children's ideas and play.Children health and safety - This area will mainly focus to reduce the risks and securechildren from injuries, infection and harm. It will promote the health and safety of1

children in the State of Queensland. Various measures are taken in order to reduce theimpact of injuries on the children. A quality education is the right of all the children. Theneed of each child's need to be supported. In order to meet the child's need for sleep,relaxation and rest the opportunities are identified for each child's comfort. Variousmeasures are taken to control the spread of infectious disease such as malaria.3. The Quality areas that aims to achieve in regards to health, safety and well- beingThe Children's health and safety quality area will be helpful in achieving the health andsafety and well-being of children as all the needs related to the health of the children will besupported. The practices that promote effective hygiene will be implemented for the health andsafety of the children. The nutritious and healthy food that is appropriate for children will beprovided. Through planned and spontaneous experiences physical activities will be promotes foreach child. The adequate supervision will be given to children at all times. In order to protectchildren from any harm and any hazard the precaution will be given.4. Alignment of at least one practice to the National Quality Standard (NQS)In order to maintain children's health and safety, the practice of promoting physicalactivity among children aligns with NQS. It ensures that educators, coordinators and staffmembers are aware about their responsibilities and roles with respect to the physical health everychild. The NQS will also promote the healthy eating for each child and proper facilities for gym,playing will be given to each child as per requirement.TASK-21.
