Question 1:
Previously I was not aware of my eating habits and tend to eat junk foods such as food
containing high sugars or lipids. This habit affected the normal functioning of my body and
induced the sugar level. However, after watching the video of Dr, lusting, “the skinny on obesity
(extra)”, I became aware of my food habits and reform my eating habits by adopting a habit of
eating less sugary foods for living a healthy life.
Question 2:
As discussed by Klatzkin et al. (2018), stress is identified as the risk factor for adapting
unhealthy food habits. Stress seems to affect food preferences in human being. Considering my
habits of eating, partially my eating habits are the result of the stress I have experienced in life.
Stress is a learned response and hence eating under stress is observed because stress triggers
hormones that can cause hunger and individuals tends to eat as the response of the hunger caused
by stress. Hence, my eating habits partially adopted because of the stress I have experienced.
Question 3:
Considering the individuals with a habit of eating unhealthy food, five component of
habit reversal, setting rules, and changing emotional perceptions of food can help to adopt
healthy habits. The five components of habit reversal such as awareness training, competing for
response training, contingency management, relaxation training, and generalization training can
reverse the habits by altering the unhealthy habits through a different training session (McGuire
et al., 2015). Setting rules can alter unhealthy eating habits by adopting healthy habits within a
period of time (Chao et al., 2016). Changing the emotional perception of food can help to adopt
a healthy habit by reducing negative emotions through training and therapy (Kessler, 2010).

Question 4:
After gaining an understanding regarding my unhealthy eating habits, I involve myself
in relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation in order to reduce my stress and anxiety. A
relaxation technique is a training process which assists individuals to relax and reduce the level
of stress such as anxiety, pain or anger (Kirthika et al., 2018). Hence, after involving myself in
the relaxation technique, I attained a state of calmness which further altered my habit of eating
high sugar food which I adopted under the stress.
Question 5:
While letting go of past habits of eating unhealthy foods is difficult for individuals since
it is a prolong practice exercised by individuals, the individuals can apply essential principles of
food rehab. The essential principles of food rehab include a focus on vegetables and fruits, avoid
processed meats, cut back on added sugars, drink more water and eat less salt can be applied by
the individuals by raising awareness with the help of health promotion program (Ball et al.,
2015). Considering planned habit, a planned habit can be applied into practice by proper training
session and scheduling the eating habits with the help of health professionals (Kirthika et al.,
2018).. Letting go of the past can be applied in practice by adopting new eating habits (Ball et
al., 2015).
Question 6:
After gathering information from the video, I have applied two principles of food rehab
such as cut back on added sugars and focus on vegetables and fruits along with planned eating
habits. It helped me to adopt healthy eating habits such as eating green vegetable like lettuce,
broccoli, tomato and fruits such as cucumber. It helped me to reduce the sugar intake and
