The assignment conducts an empirical research on sectoral share in US GDP, per capita income, and examines whether Malthus theory with realistic population model holds or not. The results show that agriculture has the lowest share in total output, while service sector's share is higher than manufacturing. The Malthus model of exponential population growth gives a close projection of actual population, but the economy has not faced resource crisis as predicted by Malthus due to steady growth of agriculture.
