ECONOMIC GROWTH AND
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

INTRODUCTION
• Economic development is one of the important factor for each and
every country as the developing nations will be able to channelize
their internal resources
• For the purpose of analysis, two countries has been chosen. One of
the rich country is Italy and another poorest country is Tanzania.
• The time period has been chosen is from 1995-2017 and during this
time period, the growth rate of Italian economy is showing an
upward movement in the growth rate and the gdp per capita of
Tanzania is showing more or less constant growth.

• In order to bring sustainability within the economy, growth of GDP is
important and the study is focussing on the GDP growth per capita PPP.
• This variable will identify the purchasing power of the individual living
in these two countries and how the gdp is having impact on increasing
the standard of living.
• The study will identify the consequences and effects of various theories
in the form of Solow growth model, Malthusian model of population and
the factors that are helping in improving the quality of labour.

• Technology will be playing an important factors that will
determine the growth of economy and using this poorer
economies will increase their growth.
• In spite of high growth in technology, the strong government
intervention is required in order to increase the proper
utilisation of resources.
• The main aim of this study is to bring the consequences of
economic growth that will increase the development of
economy.
