Example of Career Guidance and Development Activity
Target group:
K Ages: 5 to 8 -2 Students
I
Objectives
 To identify key career competencies and career
expectations from K-3 Grade students.
 To identify the future learning needs and objectives
for K-3 Grade students.
 To identify and formulate relevant teaching
strategies and learning plans with respect to
identified career competencies, in collaboration with
parents or guardians.

Activities
 To create a personal ‘Career Portfolio’ containing
one’s personal interests, future hopes and dreams.
 To communicate with students, using a classroom
interactive discussion to develop a ‘Career Strategy’ –
or the ways in which they will fulfill their career
objectives.
 To conduct a student-parent interactive session for
students to communicate and enact how they would
wish to be viewed or supported by their parents.
III Process
Description
 Students will be asked to develop their own Career
Portfolio by using resources as per their will
(colorful papers, pictures, music, art, poems) which
will contain their personal interests as well as what
they wish to be in the future.
 The teacher will then encourage each student to
share their views on how they will achieve their
career plan followed by initiating discussions where
the each student’s peers will be asked to share their
views on other’s plans.
 The teacher will collaborate with parents and
students in an interactive classroom session where
students will share their views on they wish to be
supported by their parents for their career success.
IV Observations Student will be observed based on their level of creativity,
expression of thoughts and skills of leadership,
communication and shared decision making, by using
resources such as the:
 Erik Eriksson’s Theory of Psychosocial Development
(Industry vs. Inferiority Stage)( (Knight, 2017)
 Evidence based Career Competency Guideline
(Knight, 2017)( Park, Rojewski & Lee, 2018)
 The Primary Education Policy as per the Education
