EDUCATION CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
Part 1
In a reflection of what I have read from the first and second analysis, there are some
behaviors which have changed but others have remained. Based on what I have read from the
two analyses, the use of the vulgar language has changed in middle schools. I think the policy on
punishment for any student caught using vulgar language has worked well. Nowadays, the
middle school students do not use vulgar language in their communication (Levin & Nolan,
2014). I understand the influence of social media and digital technology has influenced the
behavior of the students in schools but at least the vulgar language is not used much in middle
schools. It is not like before when the students almost used the vulgar language even before their
teachers (Sun & Shek, 2012). I cannot confirm that the behavior has ceased completely but as
compared to the previous time in middle schools, students have improved on this. To stop this
behavior of vulgar language I think is a gradual change and it may take a little bit time. In
contrary to changes in the use of vulgar language in middle school, sexual behavior has not
changed at all. It has remained a major challenge in most middle school students. Just like in the
first analysis where the girl was caught by her teacher passing a love letter to a boy, the same is
reflected in the second case study. In the second case analysis a there are reported case of a
student who misbehaves especially during lunchtime on sexual issues. Students are supposed to
follow the school rules and regulations. Low school discipline among the students and disruptive
classroom behavior ruins the teaching activities in middle schools (Way, 2011). Cathy behavior
is so suggestive that shoving other students in the lineup for lunch is connected to sexual issues
(Glock, 2016). There are reported cases of homosexual behavior in middle schools I think the
issue of sexual abuse within the middle schools is influenced by digital technology and social
media exposure to students. Most of these students are influenced negatively by what they see in

the movies, films and read from social media. The bad content on the internet ruins the moral
behavior of students. It has been a major challenge in most of the schools since the students get
addicted to these sexual behaviors they watch from movies and other internet sources (Levin &
Nolan, 2014). The sexual issue can be intervened through educating students on risks behind
their behavior. Students should be made aware of the sexually related risks such as sexually
transmitted diseases which can be contrasted through what they are doing. There should be
campaign against sexual abuse in the schools which should be supported by all staffs of the
school. In addition, there should be set guidance and counseling group which should provide
guidance and counseling education to the addicted students of sexual behavior. There should be
policies imposed on use of un-abusive language in schools (Meyers & Van Woerkom, 2014).
The students who do not use the correct language in communication should be expelled out of
the school. The parents should be involved in guiding their children against use of abusive
language in school.
Part 2
I identify the philosophy that “influencing students is a joint responsibility”. I believe that
the behavior of the student is influenced by so many factors in and out of school. The degree of
influence of the student varies from one environment to another based on where the students
come from and people they interact with. The reason why I am focused on the fact that influence
of the student is a joint responsibility is that they can be influenced back at home or even in
school depending on the type of people they interact with. I believe that the teacher should be
the first person to identify the behavior changes in students and try to guide accordingly. In
addition to that, the teacher should lead by an example since students mostly copy what the
teachers do (Hamilton, 2017). The student especially boarding students spent much of their time

with their teachers and therefore they should be careful in guiding the students in the right
behavior. The survey analysis does align with my philosophical beliefs that the teachers should
guide the student in the right ways simply because they spend much of the time with students.
The teacher interacts closely with the students and therefore he should be able to notice any
change of behavior of the student. The next step taken for the implementation of proper guidance
of the students is by making should that the parents do participate in giving good guidelines and
observing the behavior of their children.
