1EDUCATION IN VIETNAMEducation in Vietnam comprises of state-run system in relation to thepublic and private education that is run by Ministry of Education and Training.Vietnam is known on account of having a rigorous curriculum that is held to becompetitive for the students. Secondary education is another highlighted socialissue of the country. Higher education is another important arena in relation tothe Vietnamese society. The main goal of the education system of Vietnam is toimprove the general knowledge of the people and foster talent (Hayden andThiep 2015).In Vietnam, there are primarily two broad divisions in relation to theeducational system of Vietnam- traditional mono-disciplinary andmultidisciplinary university. The first group focuses on a single subject and it hasbeen found in the recent age that the education system is veering towards themulti-disciplinary format. According to the Higher Education Reform Agenda, theeducation environment is changing and it is seen that there is a spurt in thenumber in relation to the public along with private higher education institution.Developing the faculty is another important arena that poses a great challengein regard to the higher education of Vietnam. The higher education system islagging behind both from the perspective of quality along with that of quantity. Itis found that the ratio of the lecturers in relation to the students is around 1/30that is very high (Ziguras and Pham 2016). Number of holders of the PhD degreeis quite low. This arena of higher education should be properly paid attention inorder to bring about the development of Vietnam. A plan is being made to attract the Vietnamese overseas professor so thatthey come back to the place in order to teach but till far the reality has been ofgreat disappointing in this field. The government is not making use of theoverseas resources and apt utilisation of these resources would have paved the
