Introduction
Pressure ulcers or pressure sores are
areas of damaged skin caused by staying
fixed in one position for a significant
period of time of time
Pressure ulcers are high risk, high-volume
and high-cost problem in the
standardised hospitals for the bedridden
patients
Preventing pressure ulcers and
decreasing their incidence is a constant
challenge due to increased cost,
increased length of stay at hospital and
increased rate of morbidity, and mortality
(Coyer & Tayyib 2017)

Nursing Knowledge about Pressure
Ulcer
The knowledge and practice of the nurses
regarding pressure ulcers is poor
The reason include shortage of facilities, lack of
proper training, inadequate staff members and
dissatisfaction with nursing mentorship
In-service training, formal training, educational
status helps to increase nursing knowledge
about pressure ulcers
(Nuru et al. 2015)

designed to educated nurses about the
interventions to control pressure ulcers
The presentation will cover the vulnerable
population of pressure ulcer injury, the target
population of the educational tool and the set of
interventions for prevention of pressure ulcers
