Introduction:
The definition of the effective business communication is observed to be significantly
simple. The process of exchanging information of sharing the ideas among two or more
corporate individuals in an effective fashion that enables the individuals to understand it
without any sort of discomfort, is considered to be the effective business communication in
the modern business context (Cardon, 2014). The impact of the conflict in the operations of
the modern business organization is seen to be of great significance and that is the reason
responsible for the increasing importance of the implementation of the effective business
communication in the modern generation organizations (Quintanilla & Wahl, 2018). This
plays a major role in the creation of a healthy and safe working environment which motivates
the employees of the organizations to strive towards the achievement of the higher growth of
the organizations. The paper is dedicated in the discussion of the crucial topics of the 10
week activities. In addition to this, the paper provides a detailed analysis of the internal and
the external communication. The paper also provides notable information regarding the self-
reflective essay and the intercultural communication and the implications of it in my future
career. The chosen topics from the week activities are the employment letters and the
curricula vitae, different models of the communication, explanation of the process of
listening, references, different methods of public speaking, self-reflective essay, internal and
external organizational communication, significance of the intercultural communication,
various stages of the group development and the different categories of the socio
communication styles.
Section 1:
During the 1st week, I was able to gather the information regarding the different
models of communication and I understood that the communication is a process which can be

defined by the schematic diagram of the flow of information and the sharing of the inputs.
The competency of detecting the existence of the noise in the efficient flow of the
communication is the significance of the activity. In the following week, I was able to
understand the fact that the process of listening is a method for the collection of the data and
information from various existing sources. The competency of identifying the probable
challenges in the efficient listening like the familiarity, preoccupation, egocentrism, fast
thinking, overload and not entertaining are the major contribution of the activity In addition
to this, the 3rd week’s activity was significant for me as I was able to know that the formal
request for undertaking the job of a company is conducted through the employment letter and
on the other hand, the written documentation of the candidate’s information regarding his or
her competencies is portrayed through the curricula vitae. The identification of different
techniques for the effective linkage of my skills, competencies and experiences with the job
requirements of the employer is the main contribution of the activity.
In the following week, I was able to understand the fact that the references are the
formal acknowledgement of other’s work and along with that, I also understood the
importance of producing the credit to the concerned person while using their creations. In the
5th week, I was able to understand that the self-reflection of the events and the activities can
be documented through the self-reflective essay. Along with that, the activity was significant
for me in the identification of the strengths and the weaknesses of mine and the importance of
it in the continuous development of mine as a person. In the following week, I was able to
understand the importance of the public speaking in the modern business context and the
impact that it has in the effective business communications. Along with that, I understood
that the public speaking is a sort of communication that is dedicated for the public. The
achievement of the understanding of the different expressions and the phrases that have the

potential to increase the effectiveness of my public speaking was the main support that I got
from the activity.
In the 7th week, I was able to understand the various aspects of the communication
that takes place between the individuals of different nations, cultures and the societies. Along
with that, the detailed elaboration of the intercultural communication and the definition of it
was the significant gain for me from the activity as it will notably help me in my future
operations while communicating with the individuals of the different nations and the
societies. In the following week, I was able to gather knowledge regarding the internal and
the external communication where I found that the form of communication that takes place
inside the organizations is known to be the internal form of communication and at the same
time, the communication that takes place with the external parties associated with the
operations of the organization is considered to be the external communication. The activity is
significant for me in understanding the application of both the forms of the communication
with the examples such as emails or letters as internal and the marketing activities or the
events as the external communications. In the 9th week, I was able to understand the
importance of the group development and the various stages of it. The definition of the group
development in the form of the movements that engage the different individuals of the team
along with the competencies of the effective group development is significant for me in my
future operations. In the following week, I understood that the different socio communication
styles is considered to be the illustration of the methods of the social communication. The
understanding of the variation of the communication styles such as the analytical, expressive,
assertiveness, responsiveness and flexibility was a major contribution of the activity and the
understanding had the potential to help me in the implementation of it.
Section 2: Literature Review:

The chosen topic for the literature review is the internal and the external
communication. Gargiulo (2014), commented that the impact of the effective internal
communication in the modern business context is seen to be significant as it notably helps in
the exchange of the information relate to the business conduction of the organization among
the important parties of stakeholders associated with the business operations of the
organization (Men, 2014). Along with that, the effective management of the internal
communication is seen to be significant as it plays a key role in the efficient management of
the conflict inside the organizations so that the effectiveness of the operations of the
employees in the organization increases (Jacobs, Yu & Chavez, 2016). Apart from that, the
establishment of a strong internal communication enables the organizations to effectively
analyse their operations and the generation of the revenue.
On the other hand while comparing with internal communication, the external
communication is concerned with the improvement of the business image of the organization
and the communication regarding the new products and the services that the organizations are
interested in introducing to the market (Mishra, Boynton & Mishra, 2014). The effective
external communication is directed towards the customers of the company so that the new
products or the services are able to achieve the market limelight. Along with that, the impact
of the external communication is seen to be significant as it enables the organizations to
express the news of their products and the services to the customers in order to make sure that
it be easy for them to achieve the knowledge about the new products and the services of the
company. Langer (2014), is seen to acknowledge the fact that a strong external
communication from the part of the organization notably contributes to the success of the
organizations in terms of generating profit and in market domination.

My future career aspiration is to become the human resource manager of a
multinational organization. Two of the topics that will notably help me in the fulfilling my
future career aspiration is the self-reflective essay and the intercultural communication. As
the human resource manager of the company, I will be liable to make sure that I
communicate effectively with the employees of mine so that I be able to assess the training
and development needs of them, the grievances of them regarding their payments and the
work structure (Sorrells, 2015). As I have the objective of operating in a multinational
organization, I will be subjected to manage the employees of different culture, society and the
nations and in doing so the understanding of the intercultural communication will be
significant for me (Liu, Volcic & Gallois, 2014).
The self-reflective essay will help me in analysing my strengths and weaknesses (Gale
& Schröder, 2014). Being a human resource manager of the company, it is significantly
important for me have the knowledge of my strengths and the weaknesses. During my
operations, I need build on my strengths to make sure that the organization improves because
of the advantages that I have, compared to the others. Along with that, the effective
understanding of my weaknesses will be significantly helpful for me in achieving the
knowledge of the areas where I need to improve (Dunn, 2016). This has the potential to
reduce the detrimental consequences, that the organization is expected to face, due to my
weaknesses.
Conclusion:
On a concluding note, this paper elaborated the various important topics from the
weekly lessons such as the employment letters and the curricula vitae, different models of the
communication, explanation of the process of listening, references, different methods of
public speaking, self-reflective essay, internal and external organizational communication,

produced notable amount of information regarding the importance of the self-reflective essay
and the intercultural communication in my future career aspirations. Apart from that, I
understood the wide range of topics that was in my weekly lessons and it helped me in
improving my operations through the utilization of it.
