INTRODUCTION
Communication is referred as act of creating meaning between entities, groups by usage of

important component of health as well as social care (Shennan, 2019). As it defines that effective
healthcare goes beyond knowledge, information and expertise and it consists of holistic approach
which incorporates every factor of interaction and experience. This report is based on effective
communication in health and social of national health service which is for publicly healthcare
systems of United Kingdom. It is government funded medical and health care services which
every individual uses its services. This report includes reason behind effective communication in
health as well as social care work settings, communication wishes or preferences of individuals,
understanding possible barriers to communication along with its conclusion.

As communication is a tool and a technique through which individual exercise and influence
on others, bringing out changes towards attitudes, motivates individuals around and establish as
well as maintain various business relationship with them. It is a major element of individual’s
active part of life and social activity (Du Plooy and De Beer, 2018). Communication is important
and necessary as it helps in:

well as other down. As poor communication could lead to confusion as well as distress. In terms
of national health service there are positive as well as negative impact of communication on
relationships in work setting that are as follows:

As positive communicators build and creates relationships of trust through service users,

ways could help individuals to meet and fulfil individual’s communication requirements by
touch or physical contact. In terms of national health service, an individual’s preferences are
extremely essential as while few forms of touch like shaking hands could be unassuming various
other forms of touch like when individuals could be communicated. There are various methods
of communication that includes word or symbols boards, speech synthesisers, listening aids or

Lack of transparency as well as trust: It is very complex to communicate anything when

essential for carrying business practices in work place. This report identifies various aspects and
need of communication and various challenges along with strategies to carry business practices
effectively. There is explanation of various factors which are required to have effective
