INTRODUCTION
An electric car or battery-electric car is mainly an automobile that is being prepared by more
than one or one electric motor with the help of energy which is stored in batteries. These electric
cars have no exhaust emission and zero emission overall and effective and cheapest way due
to its maintenance and lower fuelling cost (Santos and Rembalski, 2021). There is significant
increase in the level of pollution around the globe due to the emission of harmful gases mostly
from petrol or diesel vehicles. In this electric vehicles proves to be an environmental friendly
measure as they did not emit pollutants and harmful gases. Along with this they have lower
maintenance due to efficient electric motor and have better performance which also helps
individual to significantly contribute in protecting environment and become environment
conscious. Present report is divided into two parts in which part a discusses the introduction of
the use of electric cars in the UK along with its background. While party b of this report
includes summary of key findings from the articles that has been selected. Along with this,
comparison between academic papers is also discussed in this report.

An introduction to the topic
There is a drastic increase in the emission of greenhouse gases and other chemical and bad
gases in the environment which is majorly the contribution of petrol and diesel cars or vehicles.
In this electronic vehicles which provide significant emissions than petrol and diesel vehicle is
an effective option which not only helps in reducing harmful air pollutant but also energy efficient
option which helps in conserving fossil fuels (Crozier, Morstyn and McCulloch, 2021). Report
has been conducted on the use of electric cars in the United Kingdom in order to protect
environment and reduce the emission of harmful gases with help of energy-efficient system.
Government of the respective provinces is encouraging the use of electric vehicles as they are
not only cheaper in the long run as comparatively to petrol and diesel cars but is also better for
environment electronic vehicles. It helps in reducing harmful air pollution and have zero exhaust
emission (Ruggieri, Vinci and Poponi, 2021). Furthermore, it has been underline that electronic
vehicles is not only better for environment but it is also effective for individual health as it helps
in promoting better air quality which will significantly help in reducing health problems that has
been caused by petrol and diesel vehicles. In order to encourage the use of electronic vehicles
government of United Kingdom has been significantly adopting tax incentives and is being
providing business grants for companies in this sector (Chamberlain and Al-Majeed, 2021). In
addition to this it has been underlined that electronic vehicles in the provinces of United

Kingdom not only include national security benefits, domestic economic development and better
quality and health but it also helps in providing environmental benefits. It has been identified that
at present United Kingdom is highly dependent on the other countries for petroleum imports
which is not only affecting economy but is also impacting up on environment. In this electronic
vehicles is being significantly increased by government of the country as it is an efficient
renewable energy source which helped country to measure economic benefit for long period of
time.
Background to the topic
Electronic vehicles is inclusive of number of benefits over conventional petrol or diesel cars. The
cost which is required to maintain electric vehicles is less than the cost to use petrol or for a
similar sized vehicle (Meelen, Doody and Schwanen, 2021). In addition to this it has been
underlined that electric vehicles are cheaper to maintain and cheaper to registers plus there are
a number of ongoing discounts is being provided by government of the United Kingdom on
registration of electronic vehicles (Koncar and Bayram, 2021). It has been evaluated that there
is a drastic increase in the air pollution, noise pollution and other form of pollution due to the use
of petrol and diesel vehicles. This report is conducted on the use of electric cars in the United
Kingdom. For this two articles has been selected which represents the use of electric car in the
selected provinces along with the key summary and comparison among the selected academic
papers which will significantly helps in identifying the importance of electric vehicles in order to
support environment as well as economic benefits to the country.
Presentation of both articles
In addition to this it has been identified that electronic vehicles significantly help in reducing
harmful exhaust emission which is good for air quality. It will help in reducing health problems,
electronic vehicles is better for energy security as it also helps country to measure economic
benefits. It has been underlined that United Kingdom is highly dependent on the other countries
to have petroleum imports (Taylor, 2021). In this electric vehicles is not only cheaper to maintain
and better for environment but it also help government to measure number of economic
benefits. There are number of leading companies around the globe which is coming up with
exciting new technologies such as Tesla with advanced safety and automation features, which
is making electric vehicles efficient for planet as well as for individuals. It has been identified that
there are number of grants and scheme that is being introduced by the government of United
Kingdom in order to encourage individuals towards electric vehicles (Chamberlain and Al-
Majeed, 2021). In context with the first article it has been selected in relation to the use of
