INTRODUCTION
Environment sustainability refers to the responsibility to conserve the natural resources of
the country by taking various measures such as proper utilisation of the resources and protecting
the ecosystem for the health and well being of the citizens. The government took various
measures to preserve and protect the environment (Danso, and et.al, 2019). In order to reduce
the pollution, many companies present their idea of manufacturing electric vehicles which
reduces the carbon emissions resulting in less pollution and preservation of nature(Li, 2020,
September). The case study is based on electric vehicles which highlights the detailed research
on the EV industry and evaluation regarding the sustainability and whether EV can reduce the
carbon emissions and slow down the climate change Along with this a reflective document on
the current lifestyle related with the sustainability ideals.
MAIN BODY
PART-A
Transport is the major requirement of an individual in modern life as people can reach to
their destination with the help of suitable vehicle which reduces their time. In the modern time ,
it is seen that many vehicles are operated through diesel and petrol but no one focuses on the
level of pollution and harm it is creating to the nature. The emissions from these vehicle causes
pollution resulting in damaging the natural environment (Gu, and et.al, 2019). It is observed the
automobile industry is considered as the most important industries not only in economically but
in the development. Electric vehicle is also known as battery electric vehicle that has electric
motor instead of combustion engine. These electric vehicles have low and zero carbon emissions
and contributes in saving the environment from the harmful pollution generated emitted form the
vehicles of petrol and diesel. With the new idea of manufacturing electric vehicle , the company
has gained popularity related to the low emissions. The electric vehicle is categorised into:
Battery electric vehicle: These are fully powered by electricity and are more efficient
the other electric vehicle.
Hybrid electric vehicle: This type of electric vehicle is the accumulation of conventional
internal combustion which has one or more motors that uses the energy that is stored in

the batteries. It has high fuel economy and have low emissions. It uses both internal
combustion engine and battery powered and is not as efficient as the plug-in hybrid
vehicles.
Plug-in hybrid vehicle: This vehicle uses both internal combustion and battery charged
from external socket. That means the vehicle can be charged by both ways but it is more
efficient than hybrid EV and less efficient than Battery EV.
It has been discovered that the gross sales of electric vehicle has increased by 186% in
2020 and is estimated that it will continuously grow in the near future. It has been identified from
the studies that UK is considered as the Europe's largest markets for electric vehicle in 2020.
The sale of the Plug-in electric vehicle has increasable by 140% and on the other hand the
demand for the hybrid electric vehicle by 12%. The demand for the electric cares in UK is
around 40% (Karki, and et.al, 2020). BY looking at the statistics and growing demand of electric
vehicle , the government took various measures and made investment in further research and
development. The initiatives taken by the government will help the companies to increase the
manufacture of the electric vehicles which will help in boosting the sales and also help in
preserving the natural environment. It is discovered from the studies that the electric vehicle
reduces emissions as they there is no internal combustion and only battery is charged and these
batteries are charged repeatedly without causing damage to the environment.
The advantage of preferring electric cars over normal cars operating on petrol and diesel
is that they bring change and improve the quality of air and also contribute in reducing the
negative impact on the surroundings. The ideas of the government to switch completely on the
electric cars and banning the supply of petrol and diesel in near future help in the development
or the country (Sun, and et.al, 2020). With the manufacture of pure electric cars less or no
carbon emission are produced while driving that results in less air pollution and damage to the
surroundings. In order to promote this change, the government is also contributing towards
achieving this objective. The government and local authorities are investing for the materials that
is require In manufacturing of the these electric vehicles (Chen, and et.al, 2020). According to
the survey , the government has planned to ban the production petrol and diesel by 2050.Electric
vehicles as compare to the regular vehicle is better for the environment as they emit less
emission and air pollutants. The major benefit of using the electric cars is that contribute in
improving the quality of air in towns and cities. It is observed that a electric vehicle causes less

greenhouse gas which is 66% lower than the petrol cars. In order to reduce the emissions from
the vehicles, the company can recharge the electric vehicles using renewable energy(Küfeoğlu,
and Hong, 2020). The government is making maximum attempts for increasing the production
of electric vehicle but more investments is needed in charging stations in order to meet the goals
and also for sustainability.
Climate change refers to the long-term variations in the weather patterns and also in the
environmental conditions of the earth. The materials and parts used in the manufacturing of the
electric vehicle contains batteries when charged are filled with energy. W hie charging the
battery produces a lot of power in the motor through which the vehicle moves. Through this
process produce the product manufactured generates zero carbon emissions. Considering this
positive aspect, people prefer using the products which positively impact the environment
(Morton, and et.al, 2018). With the increase in the sales of electric vehicle in the city have
positive impact on the climate due to decrease in greenhouse gases that will be released in the air
and therefore reducing the rate of change in climate. The manufacture of electric vehicles include
the adequate amount of carbon emissions that affects the climate as manufacturing of the
batteries for electric vehicle emits around 17.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide(Bain, and Bongiorno,
2020) . Electric vehicle requires energy that is used in charging and this can result into various
changes in climate. But on the other hand, it can also have negative impact in the environment
and results into changes in the climatic factor such as if the electricity provider uses the fossil
fuels will increase the carbon footprint and have negative impact on the climate change. If
renewable energy resources is used while charging the electric vehicle can have positive impact
on the environment and can have change in climate in positive way. The electricity that is used
while charging the electric vehicle also contributes to the climatic change but also have negative
impact on climate. It is observed that use of electric vehicle is good concept which contributed in
preserving the environment but it can have negative impacts also. The initiatives taken by the
government can have positive impact which will help in further development of the country.
PART-B
In my study, have gone through various aspects that I adopt many things in my daily
lifestyle which is having negative impact on the environment and causing destruction to the
nature. I realised that I should adopt various changes in my daily routine and continue it which
will benefit me and also to contribute toward the development. I started taking initiative starting

with planting trees which contributes maximum in preserving our environment. It is very
important to grow more plants as it has many benefits. I should start using recyclable bags and
avoid using plastic bags as it causes air and land pollution resulting into damaging the natural
environment. The government has took various measures and laws regrading ban on plastic bags
but people were irresponsible towards saving the planet and use regular plastic bags . I should
work on using the products that can be recycled which ultimately contributes in saving and
protecting the environment. Applying these in my daily life will help me gather more
information and also spread the knowledge of adopting these practices so that we can together
save our planet and protect it from destruction. Apart from this rather than using plastic bottles I
can use bottle which can be recycled (Landrum, , 2018). I have observed that in many countries
there is sacristy of water and people barely have water to save in order to fulfil their daily
requirements and by looking into this factor I focused on conserving water and stop excessive
use of water .It has been observed that many people still use plastic water bottles and majority of
it is not recycled and results into burning of plastic which increase pollution in the city
destroying the surroundings . I should focus on switching to jars and eliminate the use of plastic
bottles and contribute in saving the environment. In the situation of this Covid-19, people are
focused on saving money rather than using it unnecessarily. I should now started doing energy
audit as it helps me to know how much energy is used in home which will help me to provide
cost effective solutions and reduce the wastage of money. It will also help in reducing the
environmental damage and also results in low energy bills. With the change in technology it is
important the use of technology in order to acquire benefit from it so in order to solve this
problem i should start using power strips which shut off the power of the electronics when not in
use results in less wastage of the energy and bills.

CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded it is very important to understand the
importance of protecting and preserving the environment. The initiative of using electric vehicle
benefit the environment as there is low carbon emissions resulting in less damage the
surroundings. The future plan of the government to ban the use of vehicle of petrol and diesel
can have positive impact on the environment and contributes in sustainable development. The
scope of electric vehicle is wide as there will be less use of regular cars as compared to electric
vehicle and considering theses factor companies will switch in manufacturing the electric
vehicles and gain competitive advantage in the market. It is also stated that the sale of electric
vehicle is increasing in UK which helps in less pollution and growth and development of the
country. The report summarise the role of electric vehicle industry of UK and growth of this
sector in future , the benefits of the using electric vehicle is also summarize. The government is
also investing in further research and development and funding for the raw materials that is
required in the production and also promoting to adopt the use of electric vehicle .
