This document discusses the potential of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to improve population health. It proposes a research question on how to remove barriers associated with sociodemographic variables and public awareness to realize the complete potential of EHRs for public health. The document also presents a claim and a research proposal. It includes a synthesis matrix with three sources that discuss the challenges surrounding the implementation of EHRs and the need to improve EHR data quality and content, as well as raise awareness among the public with information campaigns.
