Introduction
 My chosen topic of discussion from chapter 5 and 6 are Electronic
Health Record.
 This presentation would focus on, what electronic health record and
how is is related to patient safety, its legal and ethical implications.
 This presentation would also focus on how this medical technology
would be beneficial to Airforce.

Synopsis
 Electronic Health record can be referred to as the digital version of the prescription or the medical chart of a
patient, that contains all the information of the patient .
 Information provided in the electronic health records –
 Demographics
 Progress notes
 Medical issues
 Medications
 Vital signs
 Past Medical history
 Immunization
 Radiology reports
 Laboratory data
 Insurance information

Advantages of EHR
 Easy access to the clinical data
 No consumption of the physical space by the bulky
paper medical records
 Less number of clinical errors and proper
maintenance of the workflow (Fernández-Alemán et
al., 2017)
 Electronic prompts, ensuring that the necessary data
are recorded at the point of care.
 Saves time
 Helps to operate seamlessly with the affiliated
hospitals , labs, clinics and pharmacies.
