Project details
Project definition
This project management report identifies a specific engineering project, that is core
to the chosen company Wood and grieve engineer’s operations. This report is an initial
project management plan that will be approved by the project executive before the final
commence of the project. The project that has been nominated for this plan is Elizabeth
Quay. The waterfront development project is a mixed use development project, located in the
north shore of Perth water and named in the honour of the second queen Elizabeth II. This
project is about design and construction of an artificial inlet including nine different building
sites.
In addition to this, the completed project facilities are projected to involve
approximately 1700 residential apartments along with a retail space and office space of
respectively 39000 square meter and 150,000 square meters. This project is one of the most
awaited projects as it reconnects the Perth City Center along with the Swan River. Wood and
grieve engineer’s (WGE), is engaged via LandCrop in the year of 2007 for providing
engineering services for the project in the very initial feasibility phase. Throughout the
project development period the engineering service provider company will offer hydraulic,
electrical, underground power, mechanical, civil and structural services. Georgiou Group has
constructed the forward development stages of the project that involve major infrastructure to
the project owners that include:
It offers twin 2.25 meter diameter of a main drainage relocation system
It also offers a new western power high voltage city power supply that access
the chamber and also conduit the system

3ELIZABETH QUAY PROJECT
A 800 to 400 mm diameter of water mains along with an adjustment to sewer
the mains and utility services
Scope management
The scopes of the Elizabeth Quay project are as follows:
A static pile load testing will be conducted to imitate a bridge pile
For construction of the Kisok 4, Hummerston Kisok, Kisok 6 and pedestrian
bridge CFA pile foundation and conventional foundations are assigned. In the
proposed Transperth Ferry terminal location for the construction of the canopy
the conventional pile foundations are required
In order to enable the proposed water feature construction temporary sheet pile
is required by the assigned project manager and construction leads
For 10% of the foundation piles a pile integrity testing will also be conducted
under the supervision of the project manager and steering committee members
The Elizabeth Quay project is identified as a major urban development project in
Perth which is expected to provide major additional inner city, residential, commercial office
space and hotels. The area undertaken for the successful construction of the project is 10
hectors of prime land in the riverfront. In addition to this it also includes a complete
construction of roads, park, promenades, and inlets along with a connecting bridge. Shops,
café, entertainment venues and restaurants will be surrounding the entire inlet.
