INTRODUCTION
The critical analysis is a subjective writing because it expresses the opinion and the views
regarding the evaluation of the data (Cottrell, 2017). The critical analysis requires two major
steps i.e., critical reading and writing which helps in analysing the authors views about their
research. It will examine whether democracy is overrated or not. This file includes the purpose of
critical analysis of the politics and the democracy and some issues and the critical analysis of
Human Rights, judicial independence and the points of measure that can be helpful in the
avoiding the problems or issues related to politics and democracy.

1. Purpose of applying critical thinking to the case study
Critical thinking is the analysis of the facts and the judgement or in short, critical thinking
is the deep study of any topic which can be an issue or any positive aspect related to the nation.
Here, the critical thinking of the politics and democracy includes how individual analyse and
interact with the problems related to the politics and what are factors that can affect the society
and whole nation. Now, the critical thinking of the politics and democracy on the Western
politics and in western politics, there are three types of ideas they generally use i.e., democracy,
freedom and human rights. Critical thinking in politics defines the independent ability to identify
the problems and the find the solution in a conceptual manner. Politics can be sometimes positive
and sometimes can be adversely affected the whole nation and the critical thinking I here
important because it completely analyses and diagnose the problems deeply. In the case study,
there are several problems that can create the cold war and this leads to violence and this gives
rise to the seeds of opposition in the communist countries and the violence creates the religion
difference and this can easily be seen in this political world. Politics also give rise to human
tortures and this is the violation of human rights like the political parties pressurized the
government bodies top take out the prisoner that can be useful for their parties and the judges
and the government cannot do anything. This is the clear case of violence and here the critical
analysis and thinking raise the issues regarding so that the people can also aware about the
problems and support the affected people like there are several cases that are running from the
ages but no results because of the democracy imbalance and the politics also affect the soldiers
life and this is because eof the civilized government. Critical thinker uses the approach of
critique of democracy from the different perspective. Some factors that completely ruin the

whole nation that can be short-termism, corruption, political instability, political incapability
with the former politics that are analysed by the critical thinking.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of critical thinking skills by examining claims, assertions and
statements.
In the politics, there are generally three ideas which are democracy, freedom and human
rights and many of the leaders sometimes supports and neglects these views and this can be end
up with the Cold War and finally the collapse of whole empire and especially the Soviet empire.
During the 1980s, due to political situation many young people fails to get proper education or
fail to continue their education. Democracy affect their educational life to great extent. During
the 1980s, because the charities are illegal under communism so the people like writers, scholars,
musicians and artists are banned so, all their work had to be conducted in secret. This is the
biggest reason that opposes the political views and the belief of people on politics and
democracy. Orthodoxies is the another cause which threatens the social cause and also changes
the views of people about the politics. Another claim is the judicial independence. The parties
who are strongly ruling on the state or country are using their power in a wrong way. In each and
every case, the Communist party pressured the court and the legal laws and the personnels
related to the constitution are under instruction to give statements or the verdicts in favour of the
prisoner because the party required that person and the parties forces the judges and the courts
are forced to change the laws to safe the prisoner and the parties do not care about the rules and
regulations that can be breached and the laws can be invented at the last moment as well. But if
the parties wanted someone behind the bars, then the judge or the juries cannot do anything even
if the person is not a culprit (Kitsantas, Baylor and Hiller., 2019). The rules or the laws are
simply the mask worn by the parties but these are not followed by the ruling parties because they
are in power and if any person wants to claim or protect against these crises, then the parties buy
the victim or kill them. There are so many examples revolving around across the world. People
are regularly humiliated by the illegal laws that affect the nation also because of the corrupt
political parties and because of these corrupt political parties the other people come into fault.
One of the most famous case of Ghananian Judges in which the prisoners offer the bribe to the
judges in exchange for coming out from the jail and in this case, about 32 judges have caught in
this scandal and accepting this offer. So, this is the clear case of political corruption because the
culprits were related to the political party of Ghana (Duran and Dökme., 2016). All these cases

really affect the complete work methodology and this all is against the laws and constitution and
in the above cases, the arguments about the human rights violation because the ruling parties
pressurized and humiliate the government bodies to work according to them and in several
countries like India, Pakistan, the dirty politics can be easily seen and also the uneducated
politicians work for the nation and this gives the wrong message to the other youngsters and ruin
the productivity of the nations. The police officers are the back bone of the country, but some
police officers work against the constitutional laws and work for the dirty politics that can be
serious issue and the citizens do not go the police stations because of the fear and the politicians
which are connected to the come corrupt officers and humiliates the citizens and this give rise to
the criminals, violence and corruption. The current politics needs some changes but according to
the current scenario, the politics and democracy is overrated or outdated and this requires some
tough calls or the actions and powerful leader for the nations to protect the citizens and the
country.
The democracy was introduced in Russia without any Human Right or laws. The Human
Rights are the most affected area by politics and democracy. In July 2013, Amarildo de Souza
was the bricklayer in Rio de Janerio was arrested by the police because of drug trafficking. But
after sometime, he was never seen again in the jail and his sudden disappearance became the
mystery in the whole Rio. But after the complete investigation and the protesters on the street
demonstration and after the investigation, 10 police officers were arrested because of the
offensive torturing and murdering him. This is the biggest humiliation and violation of the
Human rights. Brazil which is the largest cities which rarely come into picture for the violation
of laws but every year, more than thousands of people are killed by police and this is the biggest
violation of human rights. But Brazil is hardly only country which is involved in this case. The
other countries like India, South Africa, Dominican Republic and Iran is the largest democratic
country and in these countries, the criminals are formally appeared in the court but the court
process are very slow and hectic so that the courts and the higher authorities are forced to give
third degree to the culprit to take out the confession but sometimes the tortures are very heard
and the criminals lost their lives (Ulger., 2016).
So, these are some claims and the statements that actually supports the issues related to
politics and democracy and also ruins the nation. It can be summarized as democracy is over

rated as many political parties misuse their power and force the authorities to make judgement in
their favor.
3. Critical analysis of the ideas expressed in the case study and develop valid arguments.
Democracy and politics are sometimes very difficult to understand and it involves some
challenges such as Corruption by the social and anti-social elements, casteism and communalism
etc. which are the biggest factor that are analyzed. Some challenges and the issues in the case
study are Human Rights and the other critical issues which affects the democracy and the
political views (Aizikovitsh-Udi and Cheng., 2015). The disagreement was opened between the
US and Soviet Union in which the Americans argued that the Human Rights are related to the
political rights, the right to vote and right to speak are not to be a random delay, to practice a
religion of one’s choice, and so on. These rights were, not coincidentally, the rights set out in the
US constitution but the Soviet argued that human rights are related to social and economic rights
and Soviet believed that either people support political view or the economic views so after the
negotiation, it is declared that it will be in a binding treat or in simple terms, the rules of both the
countries are applied on both sides. The other issues of the democracy are the judicial
independence in which the national workers are forced to follow the rules of the political parties
that are in power and also the ruling parties do not bother about the breaching of the laws and
courts and judges are under instruction to deliver the verdict that the party required and if judge
do not follow the rules then the parties take the strict actions and this affect the whole judicial
arrangement (Torff., 2019). The another analysis is the legitimate opposition in which the
Russian communist system are in top down approach in which the orders were passed to the
people who are in the lower ranks and it was the kind of military government in which the
opposition is no more be local and this was the union issue. This kind of steps and discipline is
necessary but it opposes the civilized government. The countries like India, South Africa and
Iran are the largest democratic countries in which the culprits are not directly punished like in a
Saudi Arabia in which the punishment is given by the public but in these countries, the people
are firstly appeared in the court and then the punishment is decided but sometimes police use
offensive method to take out the confession and also the police officers gives the third degree
torture and the prisoner are killed by these tortures. In above cases, Amarildo de Souza of Rio de
Jenario was found culprit due to drug trafficking and arrested by the police and police officers
gave the torture and made pressure on de Souza to confess and the lot of torture and pressure

results into mysterious death and this was disclosed by the people who protest this mysterious
kill and after investigation, the 32 police officers were arrested due to over pressure and torture
(Quinn., 2018). This is the clear violation of Human rights and also it affects the democratic laws
and also gives the negative message to the people are already against politics. In the Anglo-
Saxons time, the decisions were taken by the councils and it was like a small court but after the
development, the councils were converted into Government and this also creates the oppositions
and also the slow process of courts and their decisions is very hectic and that's why, people
refuse to go to the courts and suffers from the problems and defaulters take advantage of the
problems. People are more affected by the political instability that also unstable the companies as
well and it also affects the economy and the growth rate of an organizations and the companies
who supports the country's economy are also influenced by changing the political parties (Carter
and Bray., 2019).
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded that Democracy has great impact over educational life of people.
Rules which are made by government affect the country and citizen as well. Politics and
democracy are sometimes healthy and sometimes it is problematic for the nation. The whole file
concluded about the critical analysis of the politics and democracy and also the purpose of
applying the critical thinking about the issues related to the politics and democracy. Critical
analysis completely analyze the whole democratic crises and the issues regarding the nation.
This study shows the certain factors such as dirty politics and human rights are mainly affected
the complete society and nation. At last, there are certain real life example that influenced the
whole western nations.(McPeck., 2016).
