Abstract
IoT is an emerging communication technology that provides a way for
performing data transmission over the communication channels. IoT
networks are able to connect physical devices with computing systems
without using human to human communication. It is one of the best
communication technologies that can be used in companies for improving
the performance of the computing networks and communication systems.
This proposed research mainly focuses on the concept behind IoT and
security issues linked with IoT technology. There are numerous
methodologies used while developing the investigation such as research
philosophy, qualitative design, inductive approach, secondary data
collection technique, and content analysis method. The literature reviewed
helped for analyzing the viewpoints of other researchers and obtaining the
secondary data regarding IoT technology. It is summarized that security is
the biggest issue associated with IoT enabled networks in which DDOS and
malware both are common attacks faced by the consumers. Therefore, it is
suggested that consumers should use only secured networks and follow
proper configuration processes in order to reduce the rate of security
threats in IoT networks.

Introduction
The term IoT is defined as the internet of things which is an advanced
communication technology used for connecting numerous devices with each
other. IoT is able to provide human to computer interaction by which the
consumers can connect things with the computing networks and devices
(Alaba, Othman, Hashem, & Alotaibi, 2017). In this generation, the use of
IoT is growing rapidly and many companies are using IoT enabled devices
because of their ability to enhance the performance of the computing
systems. It is identified that security is the biggest issue associated with the
IoT networks due to which the companies may suffer from hacking or cyber-
attacks. This research mainly focuses on the key aspects of IoT networks
and security risks linked with IoT technology.
