TASK 2 - REFLECTIVE JOURNAL
INTRODUCTION
Employability and study skills can be considered as skills that aid an individual in
developing professional career and to gain ample number of opportunities (Ahmed and Ward,
2016). On the other hand, reflection can be defined as a blend of personal along with
professional skills which stays helpful for a staff member to improve proficiency level in much
effective and efficient manner. In present report, the particular model which has been taken into
consideration is Gibbs Reflective Model which carries different range of stages. Under this, I
will be focusing on my different skills like communication, research, team work and more will
be discussed considering the Gibbs Reflective Model.
MAIN BODY
Gibbs reflective cycle
Over the years, Gibbs Reflective cycle is considered as an effective model that helps in
assessing the skills in terms of reflection. This systematic approach to reflection aid in enhancing
the overall performance level of an individual in most appropriate ways (Hill and et. al., 2016).
In present report, reflection is done considering my own skills along with performance level as
well. On the other hand, a few range of prominent steps that are specifically being considered in
Gibbs reflective model are presented underneath:
Description: This factor is helpful in providing general illustration of the different factors
like thoughtfulness about results of outcomes will be, actual scenario of a situation and detailed
information about total of individuals that are connected with exercises. Away with this, it has
also been found that point is depicted on the grounds of different skills and talents that I can act
before my workers along with top level management as well as the two of them condemned the
performance that I gave in order to attain a good position in organisation. As I already am
working as a leader in the organisation, it is necessary for me to focus on different skills of my
own like communication, problem solving and lastly, time management as well as these are said
to be noticeable abilities that ought to be available in me to effectively manage one particular or
various sub sections of the organisation and furthermore changes the conduct of representatives

(staff members). In connection with this, I already know this information that I am already
effective in time management, research skills and problem solving as well. This helps me in
developing an effective group of individuals and thereafter propel them ineffectual approach to
work in appropriate ways for accomplishment of objectives along with the goals as well.
Feelings: This segment portrays feelings that are unmistakable and opinions of others by
which depict my own experiences towards their own abilities. In association with this the
noticeable emotions (feelings) are generated because of my responses that are in some cases
positive and negative which develops presentation of my own in front of other group associates
of the organisation. Away with this, being a leader it is mandatory for me to overcome my weak
points like I am not good at communicating with other individuals, team working skills and so
on. This creates imbalance in the coordination and legitimate collaboration among my group
which impacts the performance and stimulates discourage them. Including this, it has been found
that feelings mainly differ while considering my own communication skill and group working
aptitudes and which I am not good at because I cannot simply illustrate the set aims and targets
to my classmates that can diminish their presentation and good. On account of this my attendants
feel awful as they can't perform their activity in an influential manner (Kroll and Dussias, 2017).
Evaluation: This is considered to be the third stage of Gibbs Reflective cycle, where staff
members mainly describes overall experiences regarding a range of business activities where
they are divided among various parts which are both bad and good and these are improved with
taking into consideration of different areas as then only questions like what exactly went well
and what exactly not went well while performing in the organisation as a leader. On the other
hand, I believe that every employee is not happy with my performance as there are different type
of skill in which I am not strong and my skill impacts and this have direct impact on performance
of my team members thus their productivity decreases. Although of this factor I have some skill
in which I am performing very good and they help in serving in the difficult business situations
in compose of time management, researching skill, problem solving which helps me in arranging
all work & organised team members. This results in minimising conflicting situation among team
mates by motivating them to work. Thus it can be said that conflict can be a major factor for
developing team performances and it arises as there is lack of transparency among the members
of team as they are not aware with the set goals of an organisation.

Analysis: This progression is considered to be named as the self-appraisal as it gives a
range of opportunities to create sense in regards to what exactly going on within occasions and
conditions as well. Besides this, it is also said that incorporation is unmistakable and focuses on
different inquiry to the extent to which someone is concerned with ability of strong feeling of
action, in this aspects of completing the assigned work by my team mates in the starting I have
given them various opportunity to have a break on their shortcomings and develop their potential
skill. By considering the view point in relation to encounter portray that I pretty much weak
among different skills like critical thinking, research skills, team management by working in a
group builds abilities by which I can't properly adapt to my quality and should take a shot at it to
produce for the progression of my business and other group Associates also. On account of my
powerless aptitudes the profitability of workers and execution likewise get a negative way that
prompts create antagonism in their psyche. Also, to make things clear in successful manner I
have to embrace Belbin or Tuckman theories which are useful for me in completing assignment
to my teammates by analysing their quality and shortcomings as well (Meek, 2016).
Conclusion: This factor is valuable as it helps in concerning about various factors which
are happening inside the occasion and thereafter give them unmistakable defence to upgrade the
outcomes related with future aspects. In this aspect I should outline my learning and aptitude in
relation with featuring the changes which can be easily noted as a part of my personality. Also,
concerning my aptitudes it is examined that time the board and critical thinking abilities can
become open door for me that prompts acquire climb my general presentation and aides in
arranging my group in powerful way. Alongside this it is additionally helpful in creating
different aptitudes including communication and group working in which I am powerless and
need noticeable upgrade so as to take criticisms from high level position and furthermore take an
interest in the workshops to improve my abilities (McMillan, McConnell and O’Sullivan, 2016).
Action Plan: The actions that are required for me to take into consideration is to develop a
range of skills like communication, team building and so on. With the help of this, my own
future conditions will effectively improve as I will become able to survive in the organisation for
a longer period of time. In order to improve communication skill, it will be needed by me to
attend spoken English classes, attend group discussions and so on. On the other hand, I would
have to keep my focus on suggestions given by my team members (Markham, Gentile and
Graham, 2017). With the help of this, I will become able to gain clear understanding to all team

mates, business association in order to develop coordination among the employees. For
achieving this a plan is to be developed with set business goals & standard that are valuable in
developing skill for enhancement of my career goals.
CONCLUSION
With the help of above mentioned report, it is specifically being concluded that reflecting on
own knowledge and skills is helpful in developing an individual's performance level as this gives
detailed information in relation with various skills and attributes. On the other hand, action plan
that has been formulated will effectively lead me to attain different range of desired goals and
objectives. Also, it will deliver the information in regards to different range of opportunities for
future growth.
