What is the core skill?
To cope with the growing needs of the employability skills in the organisation, the gathering of the
experience and the maturity worth counts. The proper achievement of the skills and the availability of the
skills in the market with the scope of using in the field mark the success of an individual. The core skill that I
posses is the communication skill.
Why is this core skill important? (use relevant theories and concepts to support your answer)
The communication in the organisational level is one of the most important aspects. As per the cognitive
theory of communication, the availability of the grip on the skill of communication rules the level of
employability skill. The proper assigning of the skills in the transition marks the development of the
employees in an organisation. Possessing core skill is duly important since it signifies one’s capabilities and
abilities in something.

According to Makki et al. (2015, p.1008), self-regulated learning thoughts, actions as well as feelings to be
understood through one’s perspectives. I am well-versed in English and possess good accent as well as
fluency in speaking English. According to my friends and tutors, I eventually have good understanding
ability that works effectively under certain situations. I keep my approaches to my peers or tutors of the
institution straight and clear so that they can have clarity in understanding my feeling, thoughts as well as
behaviours.
Communication skills have been always my strength since I can state my feelings and behaviour through
applying these abilities effectively. It needs to have courage and determination to converse with tutors or
professors in an appraising way which would make them crystal clear about my intention behind my words.
Can you identify any contradictions or allowable weaknesses from your analysis?
From the analysis, my only weakness lies within the problem of conversing with people in different
languages. I do not feel myself strong in being multilingual and hence it becomes critical to converse with
trainers and colleagues in foreign languages. This is my weakness in this core capability of communication
skills according to myself. It is absurd when I find my friends around me can speak in several languages but
I fail to understand. Neither I am good in expressing my feelings and share my thoughts with teachers or
acquaintances whom I meet at the organisation.

As per the statements of Kong et al. (2016, p.67), my communication ability would help me in making
myself presentable and approach clearly to professors, tutors and friends for any help required after, before
or ongoing duration at the learning class. It is easier and convenient to develop as well as improvise such
skills so that in future it would be much useful while answering interview questions. In the views of Cockerill
(2016, p.117), communication abilities or skills eventually help a person to grow self confidence as well as
self esteem that would be highly beneficial for undertaking any project or activity in future.

My next core skill is to become easily adaptable to change. I have this transparency in me that whatever the
situation is I can adapt or be adjustable to that particular situation. Adapting to change necessarily mean
changing yourself as per the requirement of the situation which would fetch positive outcome or results in the
organisational activities. It basically involves changing up of one’s potentialities according to the need or
desire of the situation. In an organisation, situations daily change by hours and minutes and hence we must
change our minds along with bringing up of the positivity or negativity in the situation.

Anyone working in an organisation must possess this ability or capability to change themselves mentally
according to the situation because it indicates the versatility of the person or individual. This helps me in
being strong yet fragile at the situations or incidents that might take place or usually takes place in the
organisation. According to Rauschmayer et al. (2015, p.220), the theory of change states that any individual
possessing this skill might pass through four distinct steps that includes- input, actions, output and impacts.
Hence, this ability is important to fetch excellent results in long as well as short term purposes.

I am definitely good at this purpose of adapting myself to change like a chameleon. It requires potentials as
well as specific human behaviour that would lead one to handle the situation in a cool and calm way. Being
adaptable to change requires one to be soft at a crucial time and strong at critical times. Huge or ample
abilities are needed to possess or develop such ability. I needed much brave and courage to excel this ability
in me and modify it for greater good. It could be far beneficial for me to adapt such a quality according to the
situations faced by me daily in the organisation.

There is a major weakness that could lead me to destruction which symbolises my temperament. I get angry
often at silly matters and things which makes me feel worried and frustrated. I do get excessive serious at
times which leads to restrictions in holding this ability as my core ability. Through my analysis, as per my
friends, trainers and other acquaintances, it could be clearly stated that I lose temper at certain situations
which is not at all positive and have bad impacts on my performances.

This skill would eventually help me in strengthening my patience and abilities to handle situations maturely. It
is very required to be a good listener than to be a better speaker which must be followed by me to maintain
this ability to adapt myself to change according to the situations that are being encountered. In words of
Patience et al. (2015, p.216), adapting to change would signify in building up of several other skills like mind
games, efficiency as well as productivity in work.

subordinates or team leaders to enhance their working productivity and abilities. Efficient leadership could
work synonymously with managing people since a leader must have the quality of a manager so that the
employees of the organisation must feel free and comfortable to work. According to the observations of
Parasuraman and Prasad (2015, p.22), leadership and management skills attract employees and
subordinates to work more professionally and encourages their thoughts and intentions.
As per the Trait theory of leadership, it is pretty much assured that a good leader must possess traits as-
self assurance, decisiveness, maturity and working class affinity.

individuals or the employees in the organisation. I possess these qualities certainly in every situation and
hence I believe that I am a good and productive leader. According to the views or opinions given by my
friends, family members as well as training tutors, I likely to have proper management skills that need to be
vitalised along with time in order to gather more skills and knowledge.

The only weakness that has been observed through me analysis and reflection is that it becomes tough for
me to maintain proper synchronisation among my team members during the time of conflicts or issues. In

team members since I fail to find a way out about solving such matters.

the organisation to improve its overall performance.

is essential to keep few elements or suggestions in mind to improve in excelling such skill in several
situations. According to the theory, one must determine that might be helpful in managing or sorting work
and activities and stop wasting time but performing improper or absurd activities.

Recently, through my friends and training individuals, I have been signalled about my excellence in

has resulted positively almost all the time.

Although the skills lis abundant in me, the factor to use the time in every opportunity lacks. The proper use of
the time schedule and the meaning of the time every moment lack. Preferring the shortcut is sometime a
weakness for me. The part of being a shortcut lover results in using of time in the most destructive way. It is
sometime seen in me, about the preparation of the time table. I seem to forget key points on the basis of
time management. The objective of time management sometime deviates and becomes lowering of the work
pressure by excluding work from the job card.

The time management in an organisation helps the organisation from the better achievement of the
outcome. The time management and the smooth operation of the fact would result in better understanding of
the work value and the better providing of the objective goal. In future the proper management of the time
would certainly provide the team with extra benefits like arranging of the data and allocation of resources
with optimum care (Frich et al. 2015, p.673). Another important help that the skill would provide is the
tackling of the issues and the managing of the risk in future.

2. Summarising and preparing action plan
The above journal entries make the objective clear regarding the availability of the fact that the
obtaining of the skill and the maintaining of the skill in the required places would help in
obtaining the required goal. Although there is abundant skill in me to compete with others in this
competitive world, there is still space for the development in me. The objective of the proper
availability of the time resourcing, ability to find the profitable growth path being patience and
being professional are the key aspect that needs to be developed further in me.
The most important and skill that needs to be developed in me is the communication skill. The
proper use of the verse and the skill to satisfy the need of the workgroup held in the better
achievement of the goal and the success of the organisation. The well conversing and the use of
the proper language in the places of need would work a lot in the maintaining of the
temperament of the organisation. The fact of being well versed would be firmly applicable if and
only if the manager of the communication skill is shown both in pen and paper along with
behaviour. I need to focus on my nonverbal form of communication and using of the behavioural
to make the objective clearer to my group and team mate.
The three basic weaknesses that needs to be improved as fast as possible includes
communication abilities while speaking in different languages, have a proper control on the loss
of temper often and resolving the conflicts. It would be very helpful for me to work upon these
areas for better or further improvements in future. It would be excellent to learn speaking in
different languages with teachers and peers since they would find easy to communicate and
understand my behaviour thoughts and feelings regarding any situation or matter that cover areas
of interest. Developing abilities of multi linguistic, it would be more convenient to converse with
foreign individuals in the organisations and read their thoughts and behaviours easily and in a
quicker way.
Two way communications would be encouraged once I learn speaking in different languages
other than English. Controlling temperament is another most important criteria to improve my
human behaviour and attitude towards others. It is a mandate to handle situations in a way more
gentle than being rude or harsh. People get offended and irritated once I use harsh tone while
speaking which is quite natural and must not be neglected at any cost. People would find it

convenient once they can converse with you taking a free mind and concerns once I get an
absolute hold of my temper that I exhibit often at casual or normal situations.
It becomes difficult to understand the origin and reason behind conflicts that arise in the
organisations often, and hence becomes tough to provide individuals with effective solutions.
This leads in hampering of overall performance of the team and therefore I must learn to manage
the coordination among my team members at crucial situations.
