Introduction
Employee loyalty is defined as workers who are devoted to the organisational success and
growth. A loyal employee is satisfying or happy to work for the business in proper manner.
Therefore, employee loyalty and commitment are important and significant for the success of
company. Along with this, loyal employees’ helps business in attainment of their competitive
advantages as well as facilitate in attracting more customers within minimum time period
(Krajcsák, 2019). The loyalty of workers plays a vital role in increasing the profit, growth and
sale of Organisation. It is essential to create a well-developed and executed loyalty programmes
that helps in attracting new customers, driving profit, reducing turnover and retaining existing
employees and customer.

Walmart is one of the American multinational retail corporations. It majorly operates and
works a chain of supercentres and hypermarkets, grocery stores, discount department stores from
the United States. The headquarters is located in Bentonville, Arkansas, United States. The
founder of Walmart is Sam Walton. The corporation has large number of employees and its
strength is over 2, 300, 000 in the year 2021 (Yu and et. al., 2019). Walmart is also largest and
greatest in terms of revenue. It is also known as the largest private employer in the whole world.
It is a publicly traded family-owned corporation because it is controlled and managed by Walton
family.

as they feel attached to their current organisation. The loyalty of employee is important for
Company in order to gain success and achieve competitive advantage. When staffs are loyal
towards firm they feel happy while working and give their best potential ability to achieve the
goals and objectives of business. The loyal employees are dedicated and have respect for their
corporation. Employee commitment generally adds value to Organisation which includes the
proactive support, awareness of quality, determination and high productivity. Walmart must
focus on keeping staff committed towards their work by taking genuine interest in employees,
inspire them and provide a path for getting success and growth in personal and professional life.

customer towards the brand. Walmart must focus on providing training and development
opportunities, job security and promotion to their staff so that they can gain loyalty of staff. It is
important for company to provide training and development benefits to their employees in order

that can help in increasing the loyalty and commitment of staff towards the Organisation.
Develop Career growth opportunities is one of the ways through which Walmart can
increase the employee loyalty and commitment. Usually employees get attracted with the
company that provides opportunity to develop the career growth. Staff generally creates
connection to their position and organisation has to develop a way through which they can
improve the position.
Collect feedback is another way which can be used by Walmart in order to improve the
loyalty and commitment of employees. Managers and leaders must collect feedback from their
employees regarding the issues and challenges which they face while working in company. By
providing consistent feedback the communication between the employees and managers gets

Encourage team bonding is also a way through which Walmart can improve the

Research Philosophy: Research philosophy is defined as the set of beliefs that assists in
evaluation of information. There are three major types of philosophies that include:
epistemology, ontology and axiology (Pranitasari, 2020). In the current investigation,
investigator will select epistemology because it also has sub kinds that are positivism,
interpretivism and realism. Researcher will select positivism philosophy because it assists in
evaluating and analysing reliability of quantitative and statistical data.
Research Approach: Research approach is described as the procedure that help in
measuring and examining data to meet objectives in systematic way. Research approach is
majorly classified in two kinds that are: inductive approach and deductive approach. In the
current investigation, researcher will choose deductive approach because it considers checking
validity and accuracy of numerical facts, figures and data. The deductive approach analyses
information within short time duration.
Research Strategy: Research strategy is defined as the methodology that assists in
collecting apt data to attain defined goals and objectives. There are many types of strategies that
include: grounded theory, action research, survey, case study and many more (Dźwigoł and
Dźwigoł-Barosz, 2018). The researcher will show dependence on survey because it is effective
enough in collecting numeric and primary information. The primary reason of choosing survey is
it assists in accumulating required information directly from the source in a very short time

non-probability sampling because it allows selection of large respondents randomly. 40
employees will be selected from Walmart as respondents.

identifying the validity and reliability of information. The research depends upon quantitative
research so frequency distribution analysis will be used by investigator to analyse information.

I am grateful that I received this opportunity to conduct research on the topic of employee
loyalty and commitment. The present module is about the role of human resource management in
maintaining and managing employee commitment and loyalty. The module has covered areas
which clearly determines the impact of employee commitment and loyalty towards the growth
and success of the business. With the assistance of current module, I have learnt the concept of
employee commitment and loyalty and its importance in enhancing the growth and success of
business. I have also get to know about the way that an organisation could easily adopt to
increase employee loyalty and commitment towards the defined goals and objectives of business.
I have also come to know about the different research methodologies that could be easily used to
accumulate and analyse the information in effective and efficient manner. While doing this
module I have got to know that I have certain weaknesses and strengths (Ragab and Arisha,
2018). My strength includes that I am good in solving problems and my weaknesses include I am
ineffective in managing time. The biggest challenge faced while conducting the investigation is
dividing appropriate time in different activities of research. I have also observed that there are
some areas that could be improved in future that I should focus on developing and forming
project management plan. It facilitates in arranging and organising needed resources in
systematic manner so that while conducting module I would not face any challenge or issue.
Therefore, I feel happy that I got the opportunity to conduct investigation and this would also
help me in conducting research with more confidence in near future.
