Introduction
Background of the topic
Employee motivation plays an important role in improving the performance of the
employees while operating as per the different objectives of the venture. Jaiswal, Pathak and
Kumari (2017) stated that the encouragement related activities of the leaders motivate the
workforce through enumeration of different rewards and recognitions. The increased motivation
of the employees permits an organization in empowering their commitment, continuous
development and satisfaction (Dikshit and Madan 2018). Singh and Singh (2016) stated that the
satisfaction of the employees are specifically based on the efficacy of the process designs and the
recognition for the initiatives. Improved communication between the management and the
workforce works as an integral support to empower the operational efficacy of the venture. On
the other hand, recognition of the efforts that are being made by the employees for meeting the
common objectives of the organization is again an important strategy that is prioritized by the
business leaders (Al-Madi et al. 2017).
Fiaz, Su and Saqib (2017) observed in a research study that more than 49% of the
workforce expects appreciation for the operations that are being undertaken by the same for
empowering the organizational goals. Moreover, transparency of communication between the
management and the workforce helps in empowering employee commitments while adhering to
the operational needs of the venture (Shah and Asad 2018). In this relation, it has been observed
that a highly satisfied workforce greatly contributes to the workforce performance while meeting
the common objectives of the venture. Therefore, the research will take the initiative of

analyzing the impact of employee motivation in empowering employees’ job satisfaction
attributes.
Research aim
The aim of undertaking the research is to analyze the impact of employee motivation on
employees' job satisfaction.
Research objectives
The objectives for the study will be:
To identify the contribution of employee motivation in the organizational performance
To examine the different aspects of motivators and employee satisfaction
To analyze the correlation between employee motivation and satisfaction while operating
in Woolworths’ situation
To suggest recommended activities for Woolworths to improve employee motivation
with the purpose of improving their satisfaction
Research questions
The research questions for the study will be:
What is the contribution of employee motivation in improving organizational
performance?
What are the different aspects of motivators and employee satisfaction?
How are employee motivation and employee satisfaction correlated to one another while
operating in Woolworths’ situation?
What are the recommended activities that might be considered by Woolworths to
improve employee motivation with the purpose of improving their satisfaction?
