INTRODUCTION Employees are the main and important assets for every business organization because they contribute in overall success of company. For attaining the same, it is also essential for manager to maintain relations with employees to improve overall performance level of firm. With the help of this, manager maintains a positive work environment at workplace in which workers get motivated and perform effectively(Atkinson and Hall, 2011). Along with this, better employee relations helps in attaining the set goals and objectives in an appropriate time frame. One of the main aims of managing employees helps in increasing the productivity level of company in an effective manner. Better employee relation not only improves the performance level but also reduces chances of creating conflicts at workplace. By this, company easily takes a strong place in market place in the most effective manner. Present report is based on Tesco which is a multinational grocery company in which they operate their operational activities in various countries. This report discussed about unitary and pluralistic terms which positively affect the employee relations. Along with this, role of main player of employee relations is also mentioned in this project. Further, collective bargaining is also an effective method which is used by company to resolve disputes. At last, human resources is also effective which positively impact on employees relation ate workplace. TASK 1 1.1 Unitary and pluralistic frames of references Maintain better employee relation is more important for Tesco to attain competitive advantage in most effective manner which leads in improving overall performance level. By this company easily attain their targets inset time frame. In business organization various changes rapidly take place which helps in improving performance level by maintaining better employee relations. Currently, the main focus of business organization is to enhance productivity level of the employees. For this company provide them better facilities and work environment which leads in getting their commitment towards the company (Au and Marks, 2012). One of the main advantage of maintaining positive work environment is to eliminate conflicts and improving overall performance level in most effective manner. By this Tesco easily attain their desirable goals and objectives. In this there are some effective frame of references which helps in managing workforce effectively. These frames are as follows: 1
Unitary frame:It is an effective approach, in this one single as well as top authority manage entire operational activities to maintain the better relation between employee and employer. In this, it is important responsibility of top manager to define as well as set ethical work environment for their workers in which they easily perform their activities and attain positive outcomes (Bach and Kessler, 2011). Along with this, one single person take best decision which leads in developing positive relation which directly impact on increasing employees commitments towards the company. One of the main benefit of this approach is to resolve all the issues and conflicts among employer and employees so that they easily attain positive outcomes and attain higher success at market place. Pluralistic frame:It is an effective approach which define combination of various factors which helps in maintaining effective workforce in order to get better results. It includes attitude, employee behaviour and values. In this trade union play vital role in order to resolve all the conflicts among employer and employees. Along with this, negotiation methods is also important in which two parties comes together for resolving conflict situation in effective manner. Further for attain better outcomes, it is important for manager to maintain positive relation with their staff members so that they easily share their problems and conflicts in appropriate manner. With the help of this employees get motivate and improve their performance level. Both frame are important for business organization to bring coordination between employees to enhance productivity level inmost effective manner. It also helps in resolving all the conflicts in appropriate way. 1.2 Change in trade unionism have affected employee relations Change in trade union directly impacts on employee relations which helps in improving their performance level at workplace. Trade union is important for the business organization to manage positive work environment in which employees easily execute their activities in an effective way. It includes various groups and persons who help in maintaining employee’s interest at workplace. All those people have right to take legal action to those companies who do not provide facilities and rights to its workers. With the help of this, they protect employee’s rights and interest so that they will perform their task effectively and attain positive outcomes (Clarke, 2011). Basically, trade union is a legal context which includes various laws and regulations for workers for protecting their interest towards the job and position.
