1 EMPLOYMENT ISSUES Answer 1: It is worthwhile to refer the issues of employment law which may arise in regard to the situation at present has been emphasized as follows- I.Yasmin was rejected due to the reason that she belonged to the minority group and that she was not Canadian. II.The nature of the advertisement was such that it clearly stated that Irish people could not apply. IV.The manager of the cafeteria did not allow Lionel to enter into the premises because of the guard dog as it could violate the health conditions of the employees. V.In order to fit into the organization Brittany was forced to attend the Church. VI.During another job interview, Yasmin was told that only left-handed individuals will be offered the job. VII.The manager of the new workplace constantly made sexual advances towards Yasmin. Answer 2: It is noteworthy to mention here that, from the beginning the abovementioned issues has been governed by the Employment Standards Code Alberta which has been considered as the primary set of legislation governing the issues in relation to employment laws in Alberta (Robinson & Robinson, 2018).
2 EMPLOYMENT ISSUES In the first case, mention can be made about the ethnicity of Yasmin and that she was refused job for being a Canadian would be considered to be discriminatory and violating the provisions of the Standards Code. In the second case, creating advertisement by clearly stating that Irish people are not allowed to apply is likely to violate the code of ethics It is evident that parental leave is a right of every employee. Therefore, in the present scenario, when Yasmin was told that mothers were not hired because they tend to take more leaves for their children is a violation of the ethical codes. However, in the case of Lionel, he was not allowed to enter into the café because he was guarded by a dog which was supposed to create health hazard. It is worth mentioning that, a guard dog cannot create health hazard unless and until it possesses certain diseases (Young, 2017). Therefore, it may violate the code of ethical conduct. It can be observed that, Brittany was forced to attend the particular Church in order to fit in the place in which she was working. Therefore, in this regard, it violated the codes of ethical standards. Yasmin was refused employment by the store because they required a worker who would be left handed. In this process, the codes of job profile were highly violated by them. It is worth noting that, the nature of the act of Yasmin’s manager was such that it highly breachedthecodeofethicalconductbecausesexualharassmentatworkplaceishighly prohibited. Answer 3:
3 EMPLOYMENT ISSUES The complaints in relation to employment issues are governed by the provisions of Section (1) of the Employment Standards Code Alberta (Maxwell & Schwimmer, 2016).It is worthwhile to mention here that, complaints can be filed by the employees under the provisions of Section (1) in regard to their employment issues (Reamer, 2017). Therefore, Yasmin has a righttomakeacomplaintbeforetheHumanRightsTribunalagainsttheprevailing discrimination in workplace. However, such complaint has to be made within a prescribed period of 1 month.
