MAIN BODY The present essay will discuss about employment law and CSR policy which need to be followed by company in order to sustain in firm. Along with this, study will be throwing light on structure of employment law of UK and the activities present in CSR Moreover, employment law of UK is derived from three main source such as legislation, tribunals and common law. This law consists of guidelines that need to be followed by employer and employees within the organization.Along with this, it has been found that issue related to employment act has been heard by employment tribunal.Although the tribunals rules and regulation are not similar to civil law as both deal with different nature of case (Wiley and Bagenstos, 2020).During the time of Brexit many of acts has been changed and most of the provision was ended by December 31.Moreover, there has been various amendment has been made in this act and it scope has also become wider as it protects employees right and provide them with judicial remedy. Although it includes right related to equal pay, 1970 in which it has been cleared that salary need to paid on the basis of performance and not on basis of gender. Along with this, it has also added provision of Health and safety at work, 1974 which describe that organization should right about the policy relating to maintain the safety during the work such as first aid kit should be present, guidelines regarding using of material need to present on the equipment. Thedanger signs need to present in case of any serious matter. Moreover, Disability Discrimination Act, 1995 in which employees that suffer from any physical disability are also get hire and special treatment are given to them. There has special employment court has been established by the government that deals with the dispute arising during the course of working.The cases heard in special court is mainly related to violation of the rights of the employee or any misconduct have occurred while working. Although the other court is common law in which employees can bring case related to claim in contract against employee or to seek higher court remedy in appeal (Witthayapipopsakul and et.al., 2022). ACAS is known as government body which helps in providing cost effective alternativesforthesubordinateintribunal.Thusemploymentlawprotectsrightsand responsibility under the agreement of employment and it also contain details regarding breach of contract.Thisactalsostatesthatwhilerecruitingtheemployeesthereshouldbeno

Thus, it can be stated that employment law favours and consider about the welfare of employees and employer and it define about their rights and remedies. However, when any case is filed in the court both the parties need to be given equal opportunity of hearing and evidence are evaluated properly before making judgement. Although it has been found that this law generally protect subordinate as most of the duties are of employer and it have to ensure that they are protected from any misconduct. The party whose right have been breached can ask for compensation and judicial remedy will be provided to them (Sternlight, 2019). In addition to this, the law has stated that no employee will work for more than 8 hours and in case of minor the time limit should be not more than 4 hours. Furthermore, new policies related to flexible working hour has been amended in the act which means employees have right to request flexible hour rather than only those with children under the age of 17 or certain care. Although employer have right to plan and share their leaves eight weeks before it starts. Thus, it can be stated that employment law favours both employees and employers in particular areas as well as it helps them in having knowledge about their right. Corporate social responsibility is one of the most important function of the company and it allows them it contribute towards society.Along with this, it consists of activities like blood donation of education facility for the backward section of society. The aim of CSR is to enhance the living status of poor people and to protect environment form chemicals produce by business. This initiative helps the organization in attracting large customer as well as build reputable image in market area. It is one of the ways to motivate employees that their organization is working in favour of society (Hur, Moon and Kim, 2020). Along with this, conducting CSR is voluntary in nature in earlier law but now it is compulsory for the company to initiate such activity. For example: Tesco is one of the famous brand of international retail store in UK and it has been known globally due to its effective management in business system. The main aim behind CSR strategy of company is to improve the backward section society by giving them opportunity for earning. Along with this, the programme implemented by company are related to environmental responsibility like it believed that policies are harmful to the environment will not be used by company as it will cause damage to brand name of organization in front of customer and society. Although environmental conservation is one of the most important concern of Tesco and it always align their company objectives with economic goals (Barnett and et.al., 2020). Moreover, Tesco has allowed all its employees to participate in role of environmental initiatives. Such as company has launched energy campaigns in 1996 and employee was asked to take active participation in that activity.However, the manager in company was to monitor the energy used in company and finds ways to reduce it. Along with this, company also provide mid-day meal in government school of India as most of the children’s are underprivileged. During the time of pandemic also company has not stop this initiative it has deliver the box of happiness at the doorstep of all students (Franco and et.al., 2020). It has implemented skill development programs in which it has provided education facilities to children and youth that are homeless.Tesco has been in charity partnership across market and it aims at supporting people at time of crisis by creating big difference and it is also tackling longer environmental and health challenges (TESCO PLC, 2022). The company has collaborated with British red cross and Tesco has funded for meeting humanitarian disaster occurred in UK. The aim of this charity is to support vulnerable people affected in communities around the UK. The organization has developed new coronavirus helpline with help of marketing channels like poster and notice board in stores. The helpline number is available for people that are facing difficulty in finding medication, food and feeling lonely. Although in agreement with British Red Cross emergency response teams to request gift in kind from nay store and it provide support to communities affected by fire and floods. Thus, from the above report it has been concluded that employment law of UK is related to protection of rights of employers and employees. Along with this, CSR helps the organization in earning longer term profit.
