INTRODUCTION
Teamwork can be defined as the collaborated effort of a group in order to achieve a
common goal or even complete a specific task in an effective manner. teamwork within an
organization can help in solving difficult problems and thus, find better solutions to the same.
When the members of a team or group are motivated, they put in their best efforts to get the tasks
completed in the most productive as well as efficient way (Baghirathan and et.al., 2020). On the
other hand, team dynamics refers to the different psychological factors that influence the
direction of a team’s performance as well as behavior. It can be said that these dynamics are
created by the different personalities involved as well as the way they interact. The respective
essay will discuss about how to get the most out of teams and empower them. It will argue for
the belief that teams should be empowered for a more effective performance.
MAIN BODY
In order to build high performing teams with group members who are engaged to their
respective jobs, it is important to encourage as well as empower the team members so that they
put in their best efforts. This is because when the team members are empowered, they are more
focused towards completing the job and achieving the goals in an effective manner. There are
many ways in which the management of an organization can empower the teams. For instance,
the members of the team should be encouraged to make their own decisions and the team leaders
should also encourage the participation of the team members during the process of strategy
development as well as decision making (Dinnie and Fischer, 2020). Apart from this, the team
members should also be provided with positive feedback for their individual as well as group
performance. This is because it helps them in developing an understanding about their strengths
as well as areas of improvement. Empowering the employees means that the employees are
given various opportunities to enhance their existing learning as well as develop new skills. The
team leaders should trust their team members that they will put in their best efforts to complete
the tasks that are assigned. There are two ways in which teams can be empowered within the
organization. One of the ways is to transfer decision making from the managers to the team
members. This ensures that they get a chance to work in an effective manner as well as generate
the required outcomes.
